    Hi David

Cannot remember exactly how long it took, but it was an awesome feeling when it happened.

Then the momentum kicks in and you look to build upon your first dollar, to your first $100, then first $1000, $10,000 etc.

I remember when we launched our first big site and it turned over $42k in the first 5 days, it was simply awesome to watch those PP emails

The thing to remember is to not chase the money. Look for opportunity in the market and fill it. Deliver big and over deliver as much as you can.

People think that you have to innovate. But the truth is that many companies are successful by improving upon something that is already there, or delivering a similar model with their own USP.

Good luck, don't give up early. Don't get caught in "buyers mode" the whole time and set out a strategy and run with it.

Allow time for rest, work and play each and EVERY day.

    Martin

PS:>> Just for some nostalgia.. if you go to Google and search for Audio4Profit you will see many sites still selling our first Software that I created back in 2005 lol. Its a simple player that lets you play audio on your site from recordings direct from mic or imported via mp3. If anyone would like a free copy, just shoot me a pm. Still got a copy that we use from time on some sites, so happy to give warriors a copy for free lol! Have an awesome day.

It took me about 3 or 4 weeks, but that was several years ago now. It used to be much easier to slap something together, get it ranked, and make some money. I think it's harder these days. Google is not quite as easy to rank quickly in, but the bigger problem for people just starting out is all the shiny get rich quick gimmicks that can be so distracting.

The more you are able to stay focused, the quicker you will make money.

I "played" with IM for about 6 months before I made my first $1. My friend kept telling me to write articles for other people and I kept brushing him off. I never invested money; I spent it. I bought this and that and too many domains to count before I realized that I was stupid. (Yes, I said it.)

Then I decided to try vWorker because I really needed some money. *POOF* I wrote 5 articles for a guy and got $25. Then $75. Then $200...within 2 months I'd made something like $1500.

Article writing is NOT glamorous by any means, which is why I'm spreading my wings and trying my hands at PLR & small books now. I'd rather setup something with passive income than have to keep researching niches that I've never heard of and turning out high quality stuff in relation to them.

From the time I started trying to make money online to the time I made my first real, I would say three years, and I probably spent $200-$300.

But don't let that discourage you. I didn't have any direction online, so I kept trying business models that were working great for others but not for me.

Then I started offering services as a ghostwriter last year and that is when I started making consistent money.

What works for one person is not going to work for another. I tried for so long to be an affiliate marketer and I failed miserably. But as soon as I found what worked for me (writing) my whole life totally changed.

And with the writing, I have made the connections with others to continue to grow my business and eventually break into other streams of income.

    Hope this helps

Well, when I first got into affiliate marketing, I tried to figure out everything on my own for like six months but could never make it work. Once I found a legitimate program that taught me step-by-step, it still took me 3 months. Now that I look back on it, I could have probably seen success faster if I had put more effort into it at the start. When I first started, I didn't do it for money. I just wanted to learn something new. It was more like a hobby. My first commission was $7.

I just remembered that before that, I actually made my first money by writing on a website that used to be called Associated Content. I'm sure they have changed the name since then. If I remember correctly, my first Paypal payment was $7 from that as well. I quit doing that because I didn't think they were paying me enough, and it didn't seem to be worth it. That's when I got into affiliate marketing.

Whether you believe it or not, it took me less than a day. I launched my white label dating site in the morning, advetised it on Twitter, Face Book, used a list.... traffic started coming by the afternoon and by 11pm got a first payment of £67 ,, I simply couldn't believe that. That made me think, yes there is money in IM.
that day and today, i keep working and focus on what I do. I would say that very first payment made me so much motivated that i keep saying to that payment for making me successful in IM.

I forgot about that. I made money on eBay back in 2002-3, but (for me) I don't consider what I did as IM. I was trying to get the money to start a real-world business by buying and selling used cell phones online. I did decent for the month or two I kept it up, but then I found something newer and shinier to play with and went after it instead.

I had made some money online throughout the years but I wouldn't really classify it as internet marketing, not the way I understand it now.

When I had first found places like Warrior Forum I read a lot and looked for the simplest ways to make some money. I even out right asked how I could make just $5 right now. People could see I was serious and some decided to help me. I started making money as soon as I took some action. I'd say I was making money within the first week.

It wasn't a lot but it kept me motivated. My revenue has been increasing since then because I'm always looking for ways to improve what I do and I'm always looking for new sources of income.

One thing I didn't do was buy anything. I'm very conservative with how I invest my money and I need to be sure it will make me a return before I do it. There may be some great WSOs and info products out there but there are also mountains of information available for free.

All of this "internet marketing" stuff comes down to one thing: presenting a product to a consumer and closing the sale. That's it. If you keep this in mind you will do well.

  • I went to an association meeting a long time ago and the speaker said to 200+ people if you know something of value and you don't sell that you are a moron (he literally said moron, i'm not kidding). Went home, made a 1 page sales letter and got my first $47 online never looked back took less then a day, but took me 4 days to write the product that I sold and the guy wanted a refund so I had lost that first paypal sale, but I ended up selling that product 3000+ times so it's how I got in to internet marketing.

PS: The guy who said moron on stage (very sharp guy) is responsible for getting me into it, but I'm afraid to put his name here he is famous and blunt in the Real Estate Niche. If you PM me I will share I don't want anyone to think he is bad, I have his home study course the guy is fantastic just some people hate him.

It only took me a few days to make my first dollar online. I started selling ebooks on Ebay in 2005. This was back when the Iprofit Ebook Package was selling for $20 or more. I made a full-time income for about 1 year. On my best weeks I made about $500 which is pretty good for selling ebooks. I don't do that anymore because Ebay came out with stricter rules for selling download on their site. They now require you to put everything on a CD and ship it off in the mail. Many people don't listen to those rules but you can get banned if you get caught. I have over 1,000 feedbacks which is why I'm saving that account for a rainy day.

I guess it depends on what your definition is of "make your first dollar online." If someone wants to do it this week, they should hire him/herself out on 'Warriors for Hire' and do some writing or web development and see money in their PayPal account by the end of the week.

As far as making money online for yourself, that is a different ballgame -- requires much more focus and self-discipline. I for one am a fan of creating your own info-products, because I think people are on information overload and will gladly pay to get a one-stop report where they can get their questions/problems quickly and readily resolved.

Took me about 2 weeks until I made my first Clickbank commission. I remember it was $46 I think and it was one of the best moments of my life (no joke).

It's a great feeling to finally have that first building block. Not to mention, the confidence I gained from that first sale helped me to continue as an IMer.

I learned everything I used to make my first sale from WF and it was completely free information. I spend the $37 or whatever to become a War Room Member and it was the best money I've ever spent. So much value in there.

I haven't made any money yet. I started 3 months ago, read everything I could find on IM for about a month, then I bought a program to learn Affiliate Marketing.

I first read through it, then found my niche and created my first website. I have now fifteen 800+ words article, and I will start backlinking as soon as possible.

My life's pretty busy so I have to work on IM on my spare time, and
I have been very careful these last few weeks with all the worries with the Penguin update, I don't want to screw anything up since this is my first website.

It's so tempting to start other projects as I read this forum, but I want to stay focused to hopefully earn my first dollar by the end of the summer at most.

Its not set in stone how long it will take, you can make that first sale today, you can make that first sale after a month. Just work hard and if you remember to spend more time setting up your money making sources than you do learning lots of different ways to make money you will cut the amount of time it takes you to make that first sale.

Making your first money online depends on how much experience you gathered, how much distractions you were able to overcome and most importantly, how much money were you willing to sacrifice.

These are the few things that determines your first income online.

Well, it is difficult to ascertain. Many factors determine how quickly to make money online. For example, by what medium we make money: affiliate, advertising, selling its own products, etc. Then the theme (keyword) that we target, optimization capabilities, the tools we use, and others. Even more important is our ability. If we are newcomers, of course it takes longer because we still have to learn a lot. But if we have advanced, so a month or two months we can make money.
