For Those on Page One of Google in Competitive Markets

I am curious, if I get to page one for a competitive keyword in a good market, how much more money can I expect to make?

I have a site that converts pretty well. I am close to getting to page one. If I can get there, is $200 each day on average a realistic figure?

If you sell widgets for $1 and sell an average of 200 a day - Yes.
If you get 200 adsense clicks a day at $1 a click - Yes

Not that I think there isn't enough information to answer your question . . . .

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more

I guess a better question would be, how much more can one expect to make if they get to page one?

Surely your question is flawed. It depends on what you are selling, how much the market needs it, how much it costs, how many people buy it, what the search volume is, what ranking you are on the first page etc.

It's like asking: how long is a piece of string.

    Umm, 3.45 metres!

I'm first for a particular keyword and the site makes about $600 a month. However, according to google analytics, most of the buyers come from obscure long tail keywords that I never would have thought of.

depending on the niche, being 1st and 2nd makes a huge difference. for one of my adsense sites the difference is in the couple hundreds of $ per day.
