Has Anybody Else Had this Problem...Starred Emails in Gmail Disappearing??

Hi,

This is the second time I've had this problem now in the past few weeks.

I don't "star" emails often in Gmail but I did today (just two). Anyway then I was doing some things went back to my inbox and the two starred emails were gone along with 5 other emails which weren't starred..

Yeah sounds weird!

Search everywhere and finally managed to find the starred one's in my Trash folder. I can't find the other 5...although they were only wso of the day one's so not worried :-).

So what is the story with the stars then? Right now I'm not seeing they are of much use! I searched google and see other people have had this problem but can't see any good answers!

    I see no one has responded to this. I use the "star" feature in Gmail and have never noticed any of my emails disappearing.

    That's weird. Doesn't happen to me.

    Whenever I star e-mails they go straight to the 'starred' category in my g-mail account - just as they should.

    Try emailing Google Support about it.

      I don't have exactly this problem but I thought this might fit here.

      I've arranged my email in the following four categories:

      Important and unread
      Starred
      Unread
      Everything else

      What perplexes me is why only some of my starred messages show up in the starred category. I can un-star all the messages that are in my starred category and it will appear empty even though there are more. The starred messages are not lost. They still show up if I click on the starred category in the left column so that I am seeing only my starred messages.

      I have no idea how Google decides which starred messages to show me. Can anybody out there shed any light on this mystery?
