Is Purple an Amazon Buyer Keyword?

I am familiar with the buying process of:

Realizing they have a problem or a need
> Research solution
> Product Comparisons
> Decide to Buy.

I also realize that some people consider the keyword "product review" a buying keyword and others a product comparison keyword. Yes i realize that someone in the comparison mode can become a buyer at any moment. That is why sales are made on "product review" and "product 1 vs product 2" pages of your site.

My question is would the keywords "color product" be considered more of a buyer keyword or a comparison keyword? For example "purple shoes". It seems to me a person that would search for "purple shoes" has already decided they want to buy "purple shoes'.

So how far along in the buying process would you consider "purple shoes" to be?

Well, purple shoes is not a buyer keyword. It's further along than "shoes" but still not specific enough to be a buyer keyword. Now, purple "sandals" would be even closer than purple shoes because, let's face it, all sandals look the bloody same, but not all shoes do.

Purple "clarks" shoes, or purple "Reebok's" are even closer.

The only time that color would be considered a "buying keyword" is if the color is actually part of the product name itself....I've found colors to be used for comparative purposes only and going after "color" + "keyword" as a marketer was not worth pursuing!

Unfortunately, no "color" products come to mind.....Well, there's American Express Blue!
