Hi all, This is my first post, I've been a a fan of this forum for the past couple of years just looking in on it from time to time but now I'm ready to "TAKE ACTION"!!!

So a brief description of what I do as a job is I sell high quality IQF fish, meet and gourmet foods to the household consumer in the UK. I do door to door sales and sell in bulk amounts and look for repeat custom every 12 weeks, this system has a lot of floors and a lot of late hours as most sales are made late in the evening when the masses have finished work so i have time early morning to midday to invest in building a web site. I'm also looking at doing email marketing to my list that i have built off line and to my new online customers. I'm also looking at setting up all the tools to supply people to set up online themselves and i can drop ship for them and also looking to set up affiliates who can email their UK lists and earn very good commission on these products.

that was just a quick idea of what i have in mind and i have quite a lot more ideas to add to that.

So the questions i have are:
1 What is the hosting deal around to build my site with?

2 What affiliate program do you recommend?

3 Any advice on supplying the tools for affiliates/business partners to build their sites?

4 The best type of site to build, word press etc?

Ive got lots more questions but i think these will do for now, any advice would be very gratefully received.

thank-you

DP

So just to clear things up, are you going into the same niche that you work in during your day job? Gourmet fish and meats? Or are you looking for a new niche?

If you are going into gourmet foods, there are probably a few programs worth checking out on Comission Junction (cj.com). You will probably be able to find monthly membership sites on there that will send out a monthly shipment of gourmet foods on a monthly basis.

Wordpress is good and user friendly, for the most part.

There are too many hosts, you should look into them on your own. A UK host might have a better chance of ranking in the UK if that's the market you will be targeting.

Hi Dan, thanks for your reply and your great advice, Yes, just to clear things up I'm going to stay in the same niche! I already have suppliers in place but I want to focus on IM and build the business from there.
My plan is to build a website that customers can order through and the goods to be delivered by post rather than me driving around so I can sell to a wider audience. once I've got the site up and running I plan on having and affiliate scheme in place so other Marketers can email their list and direct them to my website which they would earn £10.00 on every single item purchased, the average purchase is two items! This will also bring in a recurring income every month on the customers who sign up to the monthly order.
I also plan on supplying the tools so others can create their own business from this, IE every thing the need to create their own website to sell through. I've got a long way to go as I haven't built my main site yet but want to take all the right steps along the way.
