Made it to page 2 on Google..now what?

Hello everyone,

I have been reading all I can on Warrior Forum and now have my website on page 2 of Google. I am using Adsense and Amazon to monetize the site but the Adsense revenue is very small. Also, my Amazon page has yet to convince a single visitor to buy. Any advice on how to take advantage of my improved search visibility?

    Congratulations Eric on making it to Page 2 of Google. That is quite an accomplishment.

    And yes, Smalls91 is right. Work on conversions.

    While it's cool to make it to Page 2, now is time to work even hard, learn even more and push ahead to Page 1.

    Congrats, It's on page 2, now write more articles and do some high backlinks, i think it will come to 1st page of Google after couple of days later.

    Congrats on getting to page 2 on Google. Have you got to page 2 on Google for just 1 keyword?

    I know your question is how to take advantage of your improved search visability but if you are not getting good revenues from adsense and Amazon, it could be you have got there on a poorly converting keyword.

    If so, you can now target more keywords and try and get them to page 2 or 1... I use Google's Keyword tool (search "keyword tool" in Google and hit the first non-ad link) and then type in other important keywords related to your business. The suggestions that pop up will show you how many global and monthly searches are made for that keyword and also how high or low the competition is for them.

    Maybe a good idea to initially go for medium or low competition keywords and ones that have 1000 or more monthly searches and start targeting those on your site.

    It takes a bit of experimentation but you'll eventually find what keywords bring in better traffic that converts into sales.

    Just an option, one I like to do

      Wanted to update everyone on my page rank after following all your advice. I am now top of page 1 on google for my main keyword! Ad revenue is up 500% over last month. I am so happy this is starting to work after all the work. Now I need to do this 100 more times. Thank you everyone.

    Yeah, don't listen to anyone telling you page 2 is an accomplishment. It really isn't, unless it's for a very high competition keyword like "make money online" or "viagra".

    Page 2 get's like 2% of all visitors, between the whole of page 2. So you might get 1 visitor a month from a keyword that gets 5000 searches a month!

    You not only need to be on page 1, but you need to be in the top 3. It's top 3 page 1 or go home!

    You need to rank for a lot more than 1 keyword in the top 3 too. Work on getting 50-100 daily visitors, then focus on conversions. Ranking is easy, it's a science.

    Build more high quality post-penguin friendly backlinks. Improve your site, make it bigger, rank more pages.

      I started reading this reply and was thinking you grumpy... =) but seriously, Jamie Hudson has hit the nail on the head here. Congrats on page 2, continue building backlinks and posting content and you'll hit page 1 for that keyword, but at the same time, now is the perfect time to start focusing on 1-2 more keywords. Google loves variety, especially Anchor Text diversification, if you increase your ranking strategy to three keywords you'll probably end up enhancing your main keyword with the new Anchor Text and Target Page diversification and having 2 more decent keywords coming along nicely.
