best place for australian domain names

Hi everyone, long time reader. I've been looking through adwords and I have come up with an awsome campaign targeting australians, but I've never registered an Australian domain before. Keen to get peoples recommendations. If they also offer Australian Hosting or recommedations for Australian web hosts, that would be great as well.

    Based on what you said, you probably don't need to have a .com.au domain. Just use adwords to target the location/city you want.

    The best place to buy .com.au domains is http://www.mediafortress.com.au is Media Fortress. They only charge $15.00 per year all domains.

    A few things you should know though. Before you try to register an Australian domain name, you need an Australian Business Number or an Australian Company Number. ABNs are free, but not sure for os residents. You can also get an Australian domain with a state business registration number, they're about 60-80 aud from memory.

    Media Fortress also offer Web hosting with with servers in Australia and the US. Unlike other Australia web hosts, they don't put limits on the amount of addon domains you can use per account and they have unlimited space which is rare in Australia. I have about 6 domains on their Australian server and 20 on the US server.

    I always use Domain Names | Cheap Domain Names Australia, never had a problem! Their .com are only AU$7

    Don't bother with .au domains if it's too much trouble, I have some .coms ranked well in Australia including the #1 spot for Adelaide Chiropractic, and I don't know much about SEO either. You can select a country to target within Google webmaster tools.
