Hype detection logic for WSO subject lines

My trusted WSO hype detection logic to raise red flags:
  • All UPPERCASED text
  • Penny precision in past earnings claim
  • Usage of special characters to beg for attention
  • Dollar sign followed by at least 6 digits after it.

    HA.

All uppercase does tend to take away the IMPACT you can get from just putting the one or two HOT words, doesn't it?

Penny precision- well... that method actually has been proven to be an exceptional marketing tactic, I really should use it more.

Usage of special characters- damn! I need to figure out how to do that, LOL. JUST KIDDING.

$ with SIX digits! Don't get me wrong, I'll look at anything that says 1K a day, but the realist in me thinks that $500 a week is much easier to reach, and therefore, something I could 'BUILD ON'.

    But, hey, that's just ME.

The one that always makes me shudder is the use of the dollar sign in the middle of the word 'cash'. Especially when 'ca$h' is followed by three or more exclamation marks. I've seen it used so often and for so long, with no sign of it dying out, so it must be something that works.

Not for me, though. It just says to me 'I have to employ this daft tactic because I'm too much of an amateur with words to grab your attention any other way'. This instantly paints the product on offer as 'amateur' too, so most of the time I can't even be bothered to open the thread and look.

I'm probably just being too fu$$y

Make no mistake ... these systems really do teach you to make $2,251.52, not $2,250.

    Get it right, buster!

I always look for the phrase, "THEY don't want this information to get out!"...

or, "I taught my 8 year-old daughter/dog/pet turtle to do this overnight..."
