Hi fellow warriors,
I have a question, can I arrange my affiliate link to go straight to the payment page? The reason I ask this is I'm still new to CB and only made a little money with them and don't know to much about it yet. I plan to write reviews about products and sell them direct from where I am reviewing them.

So if this is possible how do I do it? Thanks and if there is already a thread like this I appologise as I could not find it

You need to know two things ...

    (i) According to ClickBank's rules, this may be done only with the vendor's express permission, in each case, and ...

(ii) You won't be setting your affiliate cookie on your prospective customers' computers, if you do it, and will be accredited a commission only on sales made to people who buy immediately after clicking on your link; you'll lose your commission on any sales made to people who return to the vendor's sales page or order page later, without clicking on your link to get there (that money will go to the vendor instead, as for a non-affiliate sale).

Thanks alexa I'm guessing that's CB rules as I'm sure a vendor would be more than happy if they were selling their products and earning money in anyway

I think this is right. The reality is that vendors get a lot of extra commissions from this kind of arrangement, earned from the affiliates who are effectively losing them, so they have a real financial incentive to permit it, if you ask them.

For many reasons, especially in using a direct payment link, consider building a list of opt-in subscribers. Very few sales are actually made on the first visit, and your results will be even more disappointing in by-passing the sales page which by default sets a 60-day cookie.

In most cases you wouldn't want to. The sales page is there for a reason. The payment page will have a terrible conversion rate.

Granted ... but to be fair, people do this if they have a particular reason to want to replace the vendor's sales page with their own sales page. For example, in the case of a particularly good product with an awful or non-FTC-compliant sales page to which one would be embarrassed sending one's subscribers. (It happens. I move along to the next product, myself, when it does, but I also know people who replace sales pages very successfully).

A fairer comparison might be between your own replacement sales page and the original (something you can split test, of course)?

The reason I wanted to do this was the vendor does have a fantastic product and the commission seems great but the sales page is very poor and I believe I could get a lot mor sales if I promoted his product in other ways. It is a shame that the cookie won't be placed on his computer because as mentioned most sales occur after a customer has had time to ponder on it.

The main reason you need to get the vendor's permission is because they want to make sure you are presenting their product accurately. It could cause a lot of problems for the vendor if you create a sales page that does not present their product accurately. If you do this without their permission, some vendors may not be too happy about it.
