      4% of 800 000 000 = 32 000 000

That leaves 32,000,000 people clicking ads. Someone, somewhere is making some cash.

Seems there's many "numbers" as to how many Facebook users are active. With that, 800 million or +, is the round about estimate per month.

Four percent is around 32 million users clicking on ads.

    Not too shabby!

I honestly never even notice the ads. I don't go on Facebook for the advertising and I never visit "brand" pages either. I interact with my family on Facebook and look at their new photos, etc. I've grown ad blind to most ads over the years.

But yeah ... GM pulling their Facebook ads right before the IPO ... great timing. lol

When asked in polls, most people claim not to be affected by any advertising, so I always take surveys like this with a pinch of salt.

As with any marketing channel, you'll only know if it works for you by testing.

I have clicked maybe one ad, possibly two, in the several years I've been on fb. I'm not a good consumer, I guess! Tho really, most of the ads I see are for stuff I have no use for.

You are forgetting one very important statistic. 99% of people who click on ads do so without even realizing it or remembering they did so.

Perfect example was my friend a few weeks ago. Asking me how I thought a particular app was making money. I said by having those big banner ads down the bottom of the page. Which ads? Those banners right there. Oh, I never noticed them before. Oh hang on, yes, I saw that Expedia ad last week and clicked on it.

You will find this type of scenario is not the exception but the rule. Therefore studies that simply ask people the question "Do you click on ads" are never going to give you anywhere near a realistic figure.
