WSO Mailing Lists. What Is Acceptable?
Now I had lots of good feedback for my first WSO and almost everyone seemed happy with it, but at the time I didn't add my customers to a list and I didn't send a confirmation email asking if it was ok to mail them in future.
Do you think it is acceptable to contact my customers now and inform them about my latest WSO? Afterall, if some of them use wordpress they may find it useful. Or is unsolicitated mailing like this always unnacceptable?
And in more general terms check the poll, do you think its ok to automatically add WSO customers to your list? Should they be sent an opt-out email immediately? Or should customers always have to opt-in on a web form?
It almost goes without saying that all mailing lists should have unsubscribe links on each email.
