Amazon S3 experiences?

Hello all,

Have been seeing that a good number of folks are using Amazon S3 for video/audio delivery content. Is this really a good place to host your videos out of? Is there any chance of getting "surprise charges"? Inquiring minds want to know!

TIA

I believe they've been around for a while without problems, I remember people using them for years now.

AmazonS3 is a great idea for video & all storage needs but it is one stinker confusing site to navigate & use even with good systems knowledge. Therefore on the latter point I highly recommend using 'Cloudberry Explorer' which makes using AmazonS3 features a complete breeze.

A lot of video pros use AmazonS3 because it prevents their website crashing when it is bombarded by heavy traffic loads viewing their video. Your videos are also safely stored away there in AmaznS3 therefore data won't be lost like it could possibly do in YouTube & the other benefit is the relay system AmznS3 offers. The latter meaning no matter where you are in the world you are getting a more direct link to that video as opposed to it being relayed all over the place before the video is viewed. So, that provides no delay viewing etc.

Storage prices are set (nothing hidden) at cheap as chips Pay-as-you-go rates. Great service especially also for delivering files/folders/ebooks/anything/data. Check out the 'Cloudberry' service & see for yourself how easy it makes using AmazonS3. Or go to AmazonS3 first & try work it out before seeing Cloudbery & you'll understand what I mean.
