IM : What newbies are never told at the beginning.

I think, and I may be very wrong, that the only people making real money here are very few. Less than 1 % maybe. I mean if you just came here you may get the wrong idea about the real effort it takes to make serious money on the Internet.

Of course there is some poorer regions where fewer income may be considered more substantive...

I actually speak from experience. I tried for 2 years ... and I made well 1 - 2 USD. I am a very bad liar though and not good at talking ( or writing )...

I disagree, I think only 1-2% are making huge money but there is a significant amount making decent money

the problem is that many people expect the big riches too fast whereas the reality is that much of IM is essentially a long-term investment and if you invest well then your profits will grow

I disagree too. Mainly because I'm a newbie and already making $40,000 a month. I only work 1 hour a month, and everyone who I've sold my course too has made millions of dollars already. Even the people who bought it yesterday.

Its just that good... like my ability to lie to people HAHAAA!
Seriously though, I think its hard yes, but I don't think its THAT difficult.

Mainly because I've already made a bit of money (in the offline arena - around 4-6 grand a month I'm pulling in) and it took work yes but any monkey could have done it imo.

The reality is it took me one month after coming here to see my first check, it changed my life, I quit my job, already have a wayy better job working offline doing guerilla styled marketing/table set ups/presentations, but my main goal is to do something successful online. I should note that I have a ton of respect for the offline section of this forum and the people who frequent there. If I never came to this forum I'd still be working a job I hate, getting paid horribly, so warrior forum HAS already helped me "succeed". Not to a point I'm content with, but I really shouldn't complain. Very grateful for what I've been able to accomplish, and like I said I just want to get better and make more money!

I don't know if people aren't told it or if they don't want to believe it... the secret that no one seems to get is: Focused hard work.

Now, i think there are plenty of junk artists who make it sound easy. But if you use logic, then you know that it is not. Any easy thing will become useless very quickly. But the nice thing is that the difficulty is a nice barrier that keeps competition fairly low.

    Hello Op,

Well I have no idea about percentages of people earning $ on the WF, but yes, that is what is said in general for IM. That only upto 5% actually succeed in making money online. And that is just making money. Those that do well or make enough to only work part time or to quit their full time jobs are even more rare. And of course, those that make 10 - 100K per month are the most rare.

Then again, this is an IM forum so there is a concentration of a lot of people who are making money here. AND... there is a concentration of people who are not and are looking too. A potentially profitable and also deceptive mixing. But also a potentially amazing resource and classroom - as we know it to be.

That said, my main interest in your post is how you refer to the reality of how difficult it truly is to succeed in IM. I don't think most people have any concept of this difficulty and understandably so. When people start, they are mainly dreams and ideas and have no concept of what IM even is, let alone, how to do it. Meaning, there are important frameworks and concepts you must understand as well as tons and tons of specific skills like working on websites, coding, writing, and a lot more. Additionally, one of the things that IM brings you face to face with IS YOURSELF.

Meaning, it's up to you solely to succeed. No one else is really going to make you put in the time, have the belief necessary to stay the course, stay focused on completing specific tasks, stay accountable for your goals and A LOT more.

Before I was in IM I did Marketing and Sales in the Event Planning industry. I was in upper management and managed around 10 people. I was good at what I did and was very organized. learning to be 100% responsible for all of my time and actions (in IM) and developing all the strategies, plans, methods, etc, to stay focused and actually achieve things was quite different than simply showing up and going through structured routines - as dynamic as they once seemed.

Point is, there are many many 'obstacles' to making it online in IM, but in my opinion, the majority of them come back to the individual and their ability to persevere .

Yes, there is a ton of junk info out there and a lot of marketers are basically selling dreams, but ultimately the responsibility comes back to the individual undertaking the challenge....and yes, it is quite difficult and as I mentioned, probably very few people have any concept of this when they first begin.

    How exciting!

I was on this forum 2 years ago .. and tell you what it is the same things : fast ... hurry .. 75 % off , new method this and that...

I bought few of those .... and tell you what...

Newbies.. the biggest niche here is .... YOU.

My opinion really. I mean this is the internet.... there are millions, billions, whatever.. maybe some are making money... but

you will not make by information that is sold for 30 usd or so ....

The real money makers no one shares ....

I wanted to say this ... because my friends ... it is not for everyone...

On the other hand... quick learners may quickly grasp the untold side of IM ....

I have never been good at talking sales and crap to people ... but who knows ... may have to learn one day that too ..

Guys, the OP is a troll. Maybe not intentionally, but he's a troll.

I've been at this a long time and I have no clue what percentage of people make money and what percentage don't. To say that only 1% of people do is ridiculous, if you limit the sample to people who actually make an effort.

The real problem in this industry is a lot simpler than most of the conspiracy theorists will ever accept: Most of the people who say they want to get into this business know nothing at all about business. They tinker, but they don't build.

How am I troll for sharing an observation , my Identity is also open ?

I still believe that we as human beings have a responsibility to give some back and not only focus on our personal gain. History has shown repeatedly what happens when power is concentrated at the very few. Did you know most people's life could be improved 10 times or more simply by a change in the money system ?

            Good luck all !

Although I don't necessarily agree that OP is a troll (unless there is a history I don't know about), I do agree with Paul here.

Folks - IM is a BUSINESS. Aside from the lowered bar to entry, it's no different than any other brick and mortar business. If you know nothing about what you are undertaking (and aren't willing to learn), you are bound to fail.

@Red: You had me going there for a second. I actually looked to see if you had a signature with a link to your WSO in it!!

@OP: Making money online is not hard at all. It's actually so much easier than doing it in person that I can't begin to explain it.

The problem, as Fenix pointed out, is that no one wants to take the time to do the work. They also don't want to take the time to do the proper research and training - and no, I don't mean by buying more WSOs than your 19 TB hard drive could hold. I mean actual research, finding a mentor, and doing whatever it takes to succeed.

They also don't realize just how many ways there are to make money online. When I first started up last year, I thought the only way you could make money was by article marketing. I knew 1 person in it, and he'd made a ton of money at it, and he tried to teach me. 4 weeks later Panda hit, and his business was washed up like a dead whale. Luckily, I hadn't made any money yet, so I just moved on.

In the time since, I've tried Twitter Marketing, Facebook Marketing, I went back and tried article marketing again because I didn't understand what Panda was, I've tried a few black hat things, I tried Clickbank affiliate stuff, Market Health, CJ.com...if I listed all of the stuff I've tried, this post would be two pages all by itself.

Then I met a mentor who is like a god in AdSense, and he taught me more than I could have ever hoped to learn. And then I came here and started reading stuff by Alexa and MYOB and Joe (his funny pix help out), and I'm learning Article Syndication now along with list building.

It turns out that this online thing is just like the real world: You can't train to be a good doctor if you are also learning how to play a guitar, reading legal books, writing your own book, trying to meet 10 girls per night, and raising chickens in your backyard at the same time. Pick a discipline, practice it until you're making money, and then slowly expand your horizons.

It's a blue pill / red pill kind of thing Mr. Fixx. From looking at your posts and your profile, you have chosen to take the blue pill and stay in the world of enslavement, doing what you have been told, and occasionally coming out and provoking others with your comments and threads.

Others of us chose the red pill and left that world and have no need to take shots. We'd just like to offer the pill to others.

It's definitely possible to make money online, but many newbies (including myself at one point) figured you could create success with a push of a button. It definitely takes hard work and dedication to make any serious cash.

What people should be told is not "only x% make money" but instead: You probably won't make money unless you work hard and smart for it, then people perhaps would be more realistic about it.

I like to peruse the WSO section for the big claimers, I never buy them of course but there's always a million people in the thread going: How long will it take me to get to $500/day with your WSO?

Naturally this is the result of a good sales letter but still.

What is success. Financial? Providing value to prospects? Working business in a balanced, healthy way? Support prospects and customers throughout?

    Probably all of the above.

I now know that making money online is simple once you know the score. If you are like I was you probably thought to yourself "Iv'e got this licked!"

Took me months to get my head around earning an income. The paradox is there are so many different ways to make money online that it can make it hard to do.

Knuckle down, find your number and go for it step by step, one day at a time.

my first response to those who say they have tried for months or years with no success is to show me exactly what you have been doing.

If you have been at this a few months, you should be able to show me a site, a squeeze page, you autoresponder messages, the ads and marketing methods you have tried in some sort of spreadsheet type form (what worked and what didn't and some idea of why). I ask to see the articles they have written, their 1st ice breaking email to industry leaders who they have tried to jv with, and any other "work" they have been trying

a huge percentage of people can't show me even 1 or 2 of those things. I guess they thought they would just through up a youtube video or FB page and people would come buy stuff from their affiliate link. That's not trying...thats hoping, wishing, or dreaming, but not working to build an income stream online.
