It's just like Camtasia but free right..?

- After you record a video, do you have to save the file to your pc and then upload it again, or does it get stored online instantly? Having it saved online instantly would be a great time saver.

You can choose to upload it instantly...and it gives you a url, just send the url out or give it to whoever...

And the videos or images you create are private by default, if you choose to upload them, so only people you give the url can see them...

Okay just done a very quick test of it and it's incredibly smooth at creating video capture and here's the upload:

2008-08-24_1018

I can't see you if you can name it something a little prettier but for a technophobe like me this is just brilliant! After it had uploaded it even stuck the link above into my clipboard!

Thanks a million Allen

Take care

The sound was okay here Allen

I also found out the answer to my own question about renaming it. You just log into your account at screencast and you can rename, make notes, add attachments, descriptions and a whole host of other things that you might want to do.

Take care

Paul

Lol, yes the sounds on David.
When I click the play button I get a black screen,
the status bar says it's "transfering data from
content.screencast.com"
That's about all that's happening.

I'm having trouble seeing the one with sound as well. I can hit the play button, but then it's just a dark screen. Yes, speakers are on/working; just tested it over at YouTube... :-)

It could be an issue with Adobe Flash, according to Jing:

Les,

If you go to the very bottom of that black screen you get, there's a link that brings you to a tech page about Flash media player.

You might want to check it out.

At least that's what helped me.

Jing is awesome.

I use it for short tutorials when I build blogs for clients (most are tech challenged).

I save the videos and stick them in a tutorial folder on their site. That way when they "forget" how to insert an image in a post and other simple things they can just refer to the video right there on the site.

They seem to love the personalization. It's faster than opening camtasia for showing easy stuff.

I was struck by the domain name. It is very close to my Jajeem.com

I thought the site might be similar to Animoto, which takes your images, adds audio, and converts it into video.

But i see it is way cooler than even that. And FREE. Nice! Thanxs for the link.

Just tried it out. It is a very nice tool. Camtasia was great for videos... but they need to incorporate that ease of embedding the video into it like they have in Jing. The image capture is really cool too.

This really is a fantastic tool.

I'm just playing with it now but will be using it in a big way in the next few weeks (and I already have screen capture software).

Thank you so much for sharing.

It's the cool tools like this that make it worthwhile visiting the Warrior Forum.

Kindest regards,
