Where to find writers that provide great content.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone gives me a heads up of where to say find a writer to put on a contract that will be able to provide me QUALITY content that is well written to the point where the reader can be engaged.

Also what $ will I be looking at for writers that can provide a reasonable level of content. I have used the cheap 5$ for 500 words and the quality seems to be lacking in most of them. i.e english skills etc.

Thanks

Allow me to spawn some great original content your way for free (at first), so that you can judge whether I am up to your standard. I am not greedy just want to prove myself. If you find another source geat but you'll still get some excellent & free content from me too.

Warriors for Hire has a lot of good writers. Read their recommendations and their past blog posts. Then place a small order to see if their style matches what you need.

When looking for a content writer, just make sure that you do your checks.
There are a lot of 'article writers' out there, that are a load of ........(insert word).

Don't just go for the cheapest, as this may just come back to bite you in the bum.

If this is content to go on your own site, you want to make sure that it is of high quality. Alternatively, if it's going on a site that you are using to get links and has no direct link to you, then it maybe okay to go cheap.

I always recommend high quality content that the reader is going to find of great importance. That way you cannot go wrong.

    Happy hunting :0)

The best way to get a quality writer you are happy with is to go to Freelancer.com - Hire Freelancers & Find Freelance Jobs Online and then post up the job in the form of a competition. You will probably have to make the deal a bit sweeter than $5 per 500 words but you know that you will be getting quality because you can simply sit back and judge the submissions and then go with the writer you are happiest with.

    • Go to contextually relevant Web forums and other online social communities, particularly those with high authority in your target niches and heavily trafficked by your target audiences. Some members will have blogs relevant to the niches of those Web forums and online social communities, so you should check out their blogs and determine their level of specialized expertise in your target niches and their overall writing skills. Contact those who might be interested in offering their content research/writing services. For instance:

If you are in the online business development and Internet marketing niches, then you can search for helpful members of Web forums like this forum among others about IM, SEO, make money online, affiliate marketing, outsourcing and so on. Read their posts to determine their level of expertise in relevant subject areas, read their blogs to know their writing tone/style/personality, and some of them could most likely have content research/writing service offers in the marketplaces of those Web forums. As a friendly reminder though:

There's a right price for specialized expertise in particular subject areas where a lot of people spend money to solve their most urgent problems, educate/inform themselves, entertain themselves and satisfy their immediate needs. There's also a right price for effective communication skills and an engaging writing tone/style/personality. Be prepared to pay reasonable prices for specialized expertise and effective writing skills combined.

And try to check their work if you can before you make payment. Take snippets of phrases from their copy and quote it in Google. If it's pirated, Google will show it.

There are countless very good writers here who fit that description.

If it helps, and with apologies for potentially offending anyone else I don't mention, I can offer a couple of independent recommendations (both very nice people, and very reliable writers whose prices should be higher than they are) ...

Finding writers that write quality content and are cheap is a difficult task.

If you want to provide your readers with real quality content, you're going to have to hand over more money that $5.

Sure, you can find great writers for only $5 sometimes... but they are very few and far between.

IMO, finding cheap quality writers requires you to go through a lot of crappy ones to find the occasional diamond in the rough. They are out there, though. Keep searching

Oops! Nobody mentioned about Alexa Smith.

Jokes apart, I haven't really Alexa's writing before, but she is one of the most experienced writers here (including me).

But on a serious note, if you are looking for lower price rates, you should go to freelancer.com or odesk.com. A lot of people are ready to work at pretty low rates, but you have to dig out the diamond among the mud...

I have used a number of sources to get people to write for me including ones from elance and vworker over the years and I have been able to get good quality articles containing at least 500 words for around $5. More recently I have come across iwriter.com where you can get 500 word articles done for as little as $3. You submit your article request and guidelines and within 24 hours you will more than likely have several articles done for you. You don't have to accept them all you just select the one or ones you want :>)

There's going to be a million writers who offer their services to you. The key to finding the best one is to do your homework. If you find a writer that looks interesting, check out their website. If they can't handle the content on their own website, they sure won't be able to give you the kind of quality you're looking for!

The good writers will have plenty of content out there -- both on their own websites and around the web in guest posts. By reading it, you'll be able to find out of the writer really is an expert in his craft, and if he's talented enough to make you want to read all the way to the end. Yes, doing this takes longer, but you're far more likely to wind up with a good one in the end.

And, yes, as Rose pointed out, place a small order first. That way, you can see if you and your writer "mesh" well.

In my opinion, any writer that charges $5 for 500 words is either a) just starting out and looking to build a rep for themselves or b) they are throwing articles out and not really paying attention to quality/content

Obviously if you find someone in the 'a' category that you like you should grab them up as quickly as possible. A good article writer usually ranges anywhere from $10-$30 a page if they have a good enough client base to warrant that.

I would go to the 'wanted, warriors looking to hire you' section and make a post there requesting samples from writers. That way you will have a good idea of who you might want to work with before you pay any $. Unless they are brand new to ghostwriting, any writer should be able to provide you with samples.

There are a lot of good writers on this very forum. It's not impossible to find decent writers that charge just $5 per article but it isn't very easy.

However, paying a higher price doesn't always mean you're going to get higher quality articles either. When you hire a writer or any other freelance workers you may have to try a number of different people before you find someone that will do the work the way you want it at a price you can be happy with.

Not much to add since all the key facts have been presented.

I have found a few very good writers on Fiverr, but usually they either raise their rates quickly or they completely disappear. Fiverr is a great way for writers to test the market to see what it will bear price wise so they literally might show up and then be gone in a flash.

You really do get what you pay for and $5 for a 400-500 word article is going to be a big risk.

Of course there are some amazing writers right here in Warrior so unless you enjoy searching for buried treasure, no need to dig through fiverr.

I've always found great writers here on the forum. You just have to shop around a bit and buy a few test articles until you find someone that suits.

I got a long term writer a few years ago from the writer section at wahm.com - there are some great writers there too. Some have English degrees, journalistic experience etc. so you have to be willing to pay a bit more depending on their experience.

If you're looking for a writing service I've had a few good articles from Articlez.com and Textbroker.com

      • OP, great content at a reasonable price is only part of the equation.

You need a writer who is also reliable and trustworthy. I've heard too many horror stories about nobody writers who've sold 10-packs or 20-packs, collected the funds and then dragged out the article generation, sometimes to the point where you can't get a PayPal refund.

        Get some references.

Many clients coming to us complained about scammers from Freelancer/Odesk and Fiverr. Although employees from these sites charge you low cost, they deliver what you are paying for. So be careful and make a wise decision.
A nice tip for hiring a content writer is you should ask for a test before making a decision. Don't ask for an article sample from them as they are not written by the same person you are discussing with.

Why Freelancer? I would think that, for writers, it is the worst, due to taking $5 for every project. I really don't have a good experience with them. I'm using oDesk at the moment, and it's ok.

I am available at the moment, I have some space in my schedule, so if you are still looking, drop me a message: tom@stomsolutions.com

On pricing, I agree on the $5 articles. Taking it further, I was used by a client in an example for good v bad articles. He took a $1 article, and a $15 article from me, on the same subject, and drew a comparison. At the moment, due to trying to find my feet, I'm mostly charging around the $10 mark for a basic 500 word article, although I am charging a bit less for some But for the future, i will hope this will increase.

If you are looking for the highest quality, then a simple search for individual writers on google is what I would recommend. Check out their own sites and check out their samples: see who fits your needs best.

You can find better writer at many places like job boards, fiverr, freelancing sites and at many other places. but if you want good quality at affordable price then you can try iwriter.

I am writing for a freelancing company at the moment called Witmart. You can post a writing contest there and choose the writer you want to work with in the future. There is no cost to actually post the contest, all you need is to prepay the prize fund.
Give them a try you will find many good writers there, and you re in complete control of your budget.

I have been outsourcing text for years in Europe, Australia, Canada, Eastern counrties and America and I get very good results.

I use Textbrocker in Germany for example for German as well as English text and the quality and price are unbeatable. You should check out the top outsourcing companies, send them text and let them try to fullfill your requests you will be very suprised.

I have a list of International Outsourcers for different languages that do great work if you need it let me know.

I am using people to translate complete products, services, training, videos, webinars, plugins, apps and other stuff for use on the European market. Looking to offer Warriors the chance to do this as well and offer a system to translate and get thier products International (Starting in Europe). Look for it in the next month here on WarriorForum.

If you want to sell your products, services, training, videos, webinars, plugins, themes, templates, apps, membersites or what everyou have Internationally you will need partners and I will provide them.

    Hope this helps...

There are many websites on the net where you can find quality freelance writers. the big one are ones such as freelancer.com which has already been mentioned, and elance.com as well as oDesk.com.

but personally I think those big sites can make it a little hard sometimes to find the right person as there are just soo many freelancers on there that it's more in terms of quantity rather than quality (there are still some great writers though).

there's another little site called writemypiece.com and there it's just freelance writers and proofreaders, nothing else. This makes it much easier (in my opinion) to find quality writers as it's much more engaging compared to other sites.

Well, hope that helps - that's IF you are still looking for great writers..I may be a little too late though - but good for future readers who may need it
