Using follow up messages to best effect

So I have a steadily growing list that have opted in to get a free gift. I have three high quality articles to send them and then a product I want them to buy.

At the moment I am sending 1 e-mails a day, in each e-mail is a brief description of how useful the article is and then a link to it. The product e-mail has a shortened version of my sales page, just the blind benefits, and then a link to the sales page.

Should I be putting the whole article in the e-mail? Should i be leaving more time between emails? Should I be broadcasting things because after they finish the course of e-mails i described they get nothing from me?

Would be very grateful if someone could share there experience

Linking to the full article is fine, personally i would rather follow a link than read a lengthy email. You really have to test what works best for your list. Marketers do both, and each will have their own opinions as to which works better for them.

Sending an email each day is fine too. I think it's a myth that should send an email every 2nd or 3rd day, but, if you don't have anything of quality to send them everyday, then don't. We all get emails everyday anyway, so it makes no difference if i get an email from you every day. Be consistent with whatever you decide to do.

Think about what YOU would want, or have a problem with. Have you got a problem with marketers sending you emails everyday? I'm guessing you don't have a problem with it at all, unless the content is not valuable that is.

I would rather send 2 - 3 quality emails each week instead of 7 mediocre emails...wouldn't you? Wouldn't you rather receive 3 quality emails instead of 7 low quality emails?

At the end of the day, it doesn't come down to how often you communicate with your list, the only thing that matters is the quality of the information you're providing. If you can't send a high quality email everyday, then don't.

thanks retsced, Well I only have 3 emails to send (they're all good stuff though) is it right to send them all at once? Should I try and write more content just to give it away over and make my follow up sequence longer?

i find that its much more beneficial to create content on your blog and then send people to your blog instead

this creates more exposure for your blog and you stand more chance of building more trust, credibility and your also able to get lots more social media exposure through social sharing the more people you send to your blog

sometimes it might not always be practical to send subs to your blog for the information but 99% of the time it works fine

i still include info in my emails but any article covering a specific topic or an in depth method i send them to an article on my blog

but you do of course need to of created the content first which does take time but its all worth it

the email frequency all depends on many different things but emailing every day is a good way to condition your subs to opening your emails

also using open loops and cliffhangers within your emails will also help with your open rates and responsiveness

intially i would email fairly often and then taper off a little so your not emailing every day

but everyones sales funnel is slightly different so just do what works for you within reason

The benefit with sending people to your blog is that you have more control. I do this on occasion but sometimes I just list the tips in email form. It depends on my mood

Regarding the number of emails per day/week, it all has to do with the quality of the content & the relationship you have with your list. If you’re providing usefully content & the people on your list know, like & trust you, they’ll look forward to receiving your emails every day!
