Hi!

I am having a problem with clickbank. I am not a clickbank fan.

I did not mess with clickbank for a while.

Then I opened a brand new account and placed a few banners on a few different sites.

I started getting clicks. Not bad actually for banners and for the amount of traffic.

Later in a month or two the number of clicks suddenly dropped. I am talking about their inside statistics tabs. Traffic stayed the same.

I got curious, decieded to investigate and installed plugin Affiliate Link Cloaking from WP directory to see what's happening. It cloacks your links and show clicks in general on your links and number of unique visitors that did that.

I tested the plugin. It works like it supposed to.

Well.

The number of uniques at least three times less according to clickbank then according to the plugin. And I AM TALKING ABOUT UNIQUES. And I am talking the least.

Basically I am getting 10 times less clicks then I supposed to.

So the questing is does clickbank shave the clicks?

Or is it only me?

Need clickbank professionals.

It's possible Clickbank is scrubbing some of those leads/clicks?

I've noticed with some plugins that track clicks on affiliate links, they can sometimes give incorrect results - some of the clicks my actually be bots/spiders/crawlers of some description.

This might account for it, but I haven't tried the plugin you mentioned though so I can't be 100% certain ...

I'd suggest you try tracking the clicks on your links with Google analytics, it takes some extra setup but this page will tell you how to do it - How do I manually track clicks on outbound links? - Analytics Help

Or try doing a test purchase like Chris suggested.. I would suggest you get a friend or member of the family to purchase for you just to make sure you don't get into trouble for purchasing through your own link.

    hope this helps.

Believe me, I once thought CB was ripping me off, I did a test and it went through fine. Lesson learned.
You based your decision off of one test?

    thanks for your replies ...

i tested the plugin ... it is cheaper and safer ...

i created links and clicked on them myself from different IPs.

only my clicks were registered, nothing else...

and I was talking about sudden drops in clicks when traffic stayed the same.

i am thinking that they watch the accounts and if they are not active (you are not logging in too aften) they just shave you clicks ))

plus the location matters. i am from eastern europe. it is not like i'll sue them )

    very simple explanation ...
