TOP Markets who Resell Rights to products- Why do they remove their names?

I have heard on some marketers, selling the legal resell rights to their physical dvd courses (boxed),
selling the rights for others to sell on, that they remove their names fromm the products.

What do they do this for? what is th reaason?

and does removing the name, increase the value to the physical PLR Package?
or reduce the value ?

(compared to if the marketer who produced it had their name on the product?) - eg Yanik Silver

Lee McIntyre does this for one of his products as well. It's a pretty common business model.

Obviously it increases value because marketers can claim it as their own.

This has been going on in the catalog business for years. Parent supplier creates a master catalog and allows the merchants to have a copy branded with their company name. It makes it seem like the re-seller owns the whole catalog so it's also a matter of perception.
