Look out: Forex promotional email contains virus

I won't name the company unless I've made a mistake, but this morning I got an email from a media manager for a FOREX company that is going to be launching a product with a TV promotion.

She inquired about buying banner ad space on any of my FOREX websites. I thought this was odd because I only have one website "kind of" in that market and it doesn't get very much traffic.

The email seemed extremely legit and they were offering $2,000 - $4,000+ for ad space and the email had an attached banner ad. She was concerned about whether I thought their banner would conflict with my websites in any way and asked that I review it.

I downloaded it. Scanned the zip (nothing). Unzipped, scanned (nothing). Opened the folder and their was a very large (601k) image file with an appropriate title. I tried opening it and that's when my virus detection software noticed that it was a trojan. At that time I noticed that the source of the file was labeled as "Screen Saver" and then suddenly the image disappeared.

Nothing happening to my computer yet, but we'll see. I Googled the company, found their website. Then visited the site which is "under construction" and it tried to download another trojan.

Just letting you know that if you are in the FOREX market for any reason, or maybe not in this market that you might get this email.
