Long email or short email and landing page?

I'm finishing off a landing page. In my email should I keep it short and direct them to the landing page or make it easier for them by having all the content in the email?

From experience emails are short and direct to landing page but that adds an additional step.

Long or short doesn't matter, what matters is the value you offer. I have usually had better success with doing it within the email itself instead of directing them to a landing page.

I would go with short - people tend to have less time these days and you want to use the time they give you wisely.

I agree 100%. I have personally had the best success with short and direct. I tried to give them all of the great information but I received more replies with

This is what I have seen from my own list, bearing in mind every list is different...

Short emails tend to get me more clicks but less sales, long emails tend to get me more sales but less clicks if that makes sense.

But I guess it's true what Ryanman said it's all about the value being offered within the email.
