Hi

I have been looking for several years to make money online, I started with looking at business opportunities, then looked into passive programs like HYIPS (which of course never sustain) then looked into business opps again, then have recently descovered making money on this website, through IM,
I am torn though, like whats better? a business opp or IM? I am a complete newbie really in both fields , (and no i havent made any money in either as yet) I know really only i can answer these questions but maybe there has been somebody out there in my shoes in the past, any feedback would be appriciated thanks

That's right, only you can answer these questions.

    IM is a business opportunity.

My advice is to learn more and the decide what is best for you.

    Good luck!

OK I'll take the bait here.

You've been looking for YEARS and yet you've done nothing? There are two sides to business: the people who want to be in business and the people who work for businesses. If you have taken years "looking" at IM without even dabbling in it, I think you probably fall on the side of the people who work for businesses.

When you're asking if it is better to go with a biz opp or IM, it also shows a lack of understanding (again, in my opinion) of business. Internet Marketing is a field that contains many, many, MANY different business models that are all successful.

My suggestions is to spend $20, buy a domain and one month's worth of hosting, and just try something. Do SEO or setup a squeeze page or a personal blog or a site all about chinchillas or something. Just try something; otherwise you'll be here in 5 more years, still reading the WF.

    Take action, not breaks.

Is Internet Marketing on an equal standing with business opportunities for you? That is, do you prefer one over the other in terms of comfort level? Which one is it that you are most knowledgeable in and which one provides the most "fun".

The one that is "better" is definitely the one that is best for you and your particular disposition/situation. In a way, the Internet Marketing field is a collection of business opportunities that are often grouped under the umbrella of "offline" and "online". So, the distinction between "business opportunities" and "Internet Marketing" becomes a bit cloudy--especially if you approach Internet Marketing like a business.

In the end, I would choose whichever path I'm most passionate about.

    Good luck!

I think my issue, especially in the early days was that I wanted to make money and quickly so i jumped in anything that would make money, or thought it would and yes ive fallen victim to scams and I only have myself to blame for that, now over the years i want to do something i am passionate about and then i know the money will follow, but its also a time issue when you work a 40+ hour week and then I am sometimes so exhausted to do anything else i let things go by the wayside, but like somebody else said i dont want to be on the outside looking in, in another 5 years i know i need to do something, or try something

A 40+ hour work week is no excuse...that's just called being an adult for most of us.

I work 40 hours a week in a "real" job, work another 40 hours per week (night and weekends) in my online business trying to get it to replace the "real" job, and I'm also a full-time college student.

Doesn't seem to be holding me back at all. Don't make excuses to justify a lack of action my friend, take the plunge and start doing something. You can't correct your course of action if you never embark on it in the first place.

      Italad,
I am doing the same thing as quoted above. If you treat it like a business and not like a get rich quick idea I think your chances of success will skyrocket.

I totally agree. All business takes time to grow but starting a business take action to begin. Work burden is large but that doesn't mean you must feel stressed out.

Set day goals and try completing the goals. I'm sure whether its in IM niche or other offline business, you can be successful.

I personally think there is no difference between the two! as stated above an IM opportunity IS a business opportunity and like any business it needs to be laid down on solid foundations, follow a plan, be reviewed, tested, tweaked and above all worked! without any of the above all you are left with is the dream of earning good money that will never happen. You have to take action and if you are not willing to invest alot of money then you need to be prepared to dive in and work hard! you will not make money otherwise and its as simple as that!

I used to believe that. I've owned businesses of one kind or another for 10 years now, and I've discovered that it takes a special breed of person to do it. This is one way that nature weeds out the entrepreneurs from the people who dabble in things.

      Which one are you?

    Hello!

I suggest you do a quick search about these two, I mean try knowing about these two fields and see if what is the best opportunity for you. Do a quick review and then decide. I hope that helped you in a way or so.

    Best of Luck!

I believe they are both. I utilize internet marketing to create a funnel for my network marketing company and to help people do the same thing.

You really need to find your why you want to do this and what you're passionate about. Success isn't going to happen overnight, but if you are determined to find something, I know you will.
