How to sell Amazon Products?

by ash7aq

I have amazon affiliate and a store as well. I am using amazon shopperpress script but have not made a single penny yet. what am I doing wrong ?
Do I need to use some custom script ?
What do I need to make an amazon affiliate website which can earn money ? what counts more ? the script or the looks.

One thing I have noticed with all amazon scripts is that they all look crapy. give your website a cheap look. Do auto posting which shows duplicate content for google so if 1000s of people in the world are using amazon scripts they all have the same content. how can one site beat the other in google ?
or do I need paid traffic?
I have tried using senukex for my websites to raise the ranking thinking that might help but all in vain so far.
Anyone out there who is a successful amazon affiliate who can help me make my first 100 on amazon ?

What you really should do is, make some good quality, original content for your web pages. Manually add in Amazon offers. Sure use a template but put your OWN stuff in there. There is no push button solution. EVERYONE would do it.

You're trying to eliminate the work involved without doing any actual work first, sometimes you just gotta get in there and get stuff moving yourself. If you wouldn't buy from your webpage, chances are nobody else will.

To add to the previous reply. Build a site for your users not for search engines. Original content goes a long way. If you don't want to write it yourself you can always outsource.
Pick a niche you don't hate and become an authority.

This seems to be the common thought about Amazon scripts - set it and forget it. Maybe it is because of the way the scripts are marketed or presented by the sellers.

Even if you use auto posting, do have unique content too on your site. If writing is difficult you can use PLRs and re-write them. There are warriors here who produces great Amazon product review PLRs.

Even if you do this just once a day you'll be miles ahead of many others. Comfort yourself with the fact that product keywords are easier to rank and patiently work at it.

You'll be amazed at what you have built after some days.

    All the best.

Yeah, pretty much what everyone else said....

I started off trying to cut corners(easy button). But, that just wont cut it! You have to put the hours in and work. IM is a job, sure once you get things figured out the ball will be rolling better.

I noticed a huge difference, when I started writing my own content. I also been trying every way I can think of to gain traffic. It all comes down to trial and error! Stick with something and focus, dont give up in a few days/weeks/months! Its pretty funny, for me to say wait it out and stick with it, because I have crazy ADD/ADHD and i manged to stick it out without jumping from one idea to the other.

I do very well with Amazon. All I do is target easy-to-rank products and provide good content that I personally write. The only backlinking I do is the typical pinging and social bookmarking of each post as it's published.

Aside from the odd Amazon autoblog that I own, I stay away from the autoposting crap.

    Just follow the given steps:

-Built up your website at Wordpress, bcs Google is quite friendly with Wordpress.
-Use Azon theme but if u dont ve enough money u can start with Magazine Theme.
-Dont put autopilot Content, instead write the original content.
-For traffic you can move to free traffic or Paid traffic, it's ur choice and depends upon ur pocket.

Do a review website. The main page should be one with all your top products included. Then you have a single page for each product, where you have a high quality review.

Get a broader keyword for your main page then longer tail keywords for each other product page.

Build pages every day the more you have the more keywords you also have and the more traffic you will get from the serps.

Build backlinks every day and in 2 to 6 month( depending on your website age and trust rank) you will start noticing more traffic coming from the serps.

You can also promote your product on related forum using a sign with a link, or by commenting on other blogs. There are many free ways to promote your website. Although, you can pay, which is less effortless and you get faster traffic.

Social bookmarking isn't bad you can get a lot of high quality backlinks~and some traffic, which will help you a lot.

Actually you should try several ways to generate traffic, and then see where you get the most high quality and focus on that one. Although, the main one should be the serp.

    Be patient.

    Hope these helps. Good Luck.

Technical considerations (like what scripts you use or don't use) should not make the difference between your success or failure as an affiliate of Amazon, or any other retailer or network.

What makes the difference is the type and quality of the traffic you attract, and the strength of your recommendations.

Gimmicks won't bring you targeted traffic. And without quality content and effective communication with your prospects, you're not going to make many sales, regardless of the extravagance of your set-up, the format of your sites, or the number of bells and whistles they incorporate.

    ash7aq......

Google Panda and Penguin have required us as affiliate site owners to ELIMINATE the GIMMICKS and SCRIPTS and go back to the basics and that is focusing on good quality content.

Let the Google results help you with the direction you need to take....Look at the top ranking affiliate sites in your niche/keyword. You will find most to be content rich. You don't have to be a prize winning writer. Just dive into the Amazon products and really take some time to let the description and customer reviews soak in.

There's lots of established content already so CREATIVELY take what's out there and repackage it on your site (NOTE: I said repackage! )

Also, until your site ranks, work on adding content often...preferably, daily! The days of 2 week old static sites maintaining high rankings are LONE GONE!

try to create a review site, post it with unique content and make the content for "real user" not for search engine. and do it routinely at least 3 months

in this way you will get about 100-500 visitor everyday to your site and imagine if you get 1% conversion from it... after you pass this process, try to scale it up....

selling amazon product is very simple and easy as long as you know which product to promote to your web/blog visitor....

It's not quite as easy as the poser above me makes it out to be but it is fairly straightforward. I make 4 figures monthly and I spend an hour or o a day on my sites so I know a little about this.

Choose a niche you know something about and target low-competition products. Make sure you write your own content and that it's useful for your readers. Do this consistently and you will make money. However, the devil is always in the details. Proper product selection is key to profitability.

If you build a site just to promote Amazon affiliate products, you won't get anywhere fast. These types of sites are a dying breed. They rely on Google traffic, and Google won't give you that traffic if you have affiliate links on every page.

If you want to sell affiliate products, you need to incorporate them in a site which has a load of other non affiliate pages and good quality information. Build a community around your site, and turn your viewers into repeat visitors. Have them share your content, and spread the word about you through word of mouth advertising.

Making out-and-out affiliate sites isn't a reliable or sustainable business model. You have to rely too much on Google traffic (Most of the time, 'real' people aren't going to share your site around), and they're sending less and less traffic to this type of site. Focus on creating you own product, or a useful site where people will actually want to do more then just 'click the ad' and get off.

i don't mean to deter you from what you're doing, but amazon affiliates is very hard to make money from. i tried it once and only make 0.14 USD in 6 months from a website that ranked 3rd for "Olay Regenerist Reviews", which generated quite a bit of traffic

    Hi,

But for me it's hard to find such buyer niche keywords with enough traffic and easy to rank.

Say that example; pink cat collars, it's not easy to rank with this key and it has low traffic too.

wolfmmiii, can you explain me the difference betwenn a niche buyer keyword for an adsense niche site and a niche buyer keyword for an amazon affiliate niche site, so that I have an idea to find such keywords?

    Marco005...

I do things quite differently than most and I suspect that's why I'm so successful. I don't even look at search volume when choosing products to promote on my Amazon sites. What I do is focus on products that I know I can rank for and I promote them. Some products are duds but most start bringing almost instant traffic.

AdSense is best for informational sites (how to get rid of acne, how to build a bird cage, etc.). Amazon is best for product-based sites (HDTVs, Women's Shoes, etc). I feel it's less important to target "buying" keywords when building an AdSense site.

My Building a Product Review Site One Long-Tail at a Time tutorial is a short and inexpensive read and it discusses how I choose my products for my own Amazon sites.

I prefer brandable domains. I think my personal Amazon blueprint tutorial touches on this briefly. That said, I don't like things like bestunderwatercameras.org. They just look spammy to me. I'd rather built a site around something like gizmonet.com (made up) or gadgettalk.com (made up).

What I must do to outrank these? Wrtiting doubled more reviews ,also 20 pages, or longer reviews, or more backlinks are them???

To be honest, I love seeing that because once you have a site that Google trusts, it's rather easy to outrank them with on-page SEO alone. If I see a bunch of N/R and 0 ratings on page one, I pretty much know I'm going to rank. The only backlinking I do is social bookmarking and pinging of new product posts.

Just provide quality content on a consistent basis. If you do this while targeting low-comp products, things suddenly become very easy.

    Hi,

Yeah, promoting amazon products about 1,000$ or more itchy my fingers ...

But for 10 good written product reviews who are 500-600 words long, I must spend more money to outsource (writer) than for a 5 page adsense micro niche site who has 300 words on each page, it's a little more money to spend.

But make good money a 4 figure income perhaps with 10 or 15 sites it's more amazing than make this income with 100 adsense micro niche sites.....

But it's hard to find product keywords with high item price on amazon for easy ranking, or these specific product keywords like this example ; 10x8 retractable patio awning, they has a search volume from 140 global month.

Hm, so I must build 10 pages more of these products with either-same search volume, so to have 140x10 pages= 1400 search volume?

I think the conversionrate must be far higher than 2%?

So I must build backlinks for each page, not for the root domain like; retractablepatioawning, this alone will bring low traffic, the backlinks I must build for each awning product page?

    Tom,

I did a little research last night and registered a domain. I am going to start on the content for the main page this weekend and select the 10 most popular items (2 each for 5 different categories) to start with. After I get all of the reviews written and placed on the site and it has been indexed by Google I plan to add 1-2 new product reviews every day.

Do you only promote items that have a product code that can be used in the page title, many of the popular items I looked at last night did not have product codes.

    Thanks
    Brent

        Hey there ash7aq

When you used senukex did you track your traffic before and after?
If so where your traffic much higher or was it lower? You see Google will
downright slap you if you don't you whitehat techniques to rank your site, meaning you have to drive traffic to your site the ethical way!

Like whats being said here, quality content is also what you need! But you also need Whitehat backlinks! Look in my signature for more on that!

I agree on the fact with Panda & Penguin making it more difficult, and thats not just for amazon affiliate site owners, basically for most Internet Marketers that relies heavily on organic ranking on google. If you click the second link it my signature you should find something that can help you with that, ranking organic with google!

I hope this helps you in the right direction!

I would recommend starting from scratch and join an Amazon course and you'll find some good ones on here. Just search Amazon courses and you'll find some experts. Sometimes you have forget about what you have learn't, especially if it isn't producing results and focus on new material that works.

You could also try a different approach! But still with Amazon!

As an affiliate you can get around 15% in commissions! How do you think you'd get as a seller? Think closer to 85% to 100% (minus fees of course).
In my opinion this is much easier, and if you're clever about it you can actually do it with NO INVENTORY nor having to worry about CUSTOMER SUPPORT

If you want to know more about this I'm sure you can find info on this here at WSO. Or you can PM me if you like!

    Hi,

    wolfmmiii, my last 5 cent noob keyword question;

when I found a key long term like someone; productxxx modelltr800 or so, it has an search volume exakt from 110- so 5 such product pages would be have 550 high target high convert traffic volume.

But problem is,yes there are less competitors for this key (no PR, no page links, no emd domain), but the pages on google page one have all the same title like this; productxxx modelltr800.

    So when I will make a title that is little different to get more eye catching,better ctr, so I must write the title a little bit different like this;

    "buy the productxxx modelltr800"
    "use the productxxx modelltr800"
    " productxxx modelltr800 review"

Is that correct? Or what you doing to get an better different title as your competitor for eye catching with your long tail key?

When I write complet different title, then this term has no search volume data in google tool, spyfu and semrush.

    best wishes

I have used the amazon affiliate program to promote products.
The simplest answer is to create your own sites from scratch and
then add the Amazon affiliate links into the site.

Don't use a pre-made template. It looks spammy and unnatural.
    Good luck

I don't like to promote Amazon. I sold a $29 item and I got a commission $1 plus. I will just promote click for my adsense websites and might have $5 per click or promote free sign up CPA.
