Default The Free Internet Revolution

Will The Internet Ever Be 100% Free?

Yes i gather there will be some thinking "The internet is already free, you have free wifi and free ISP's". But im not talking about a slow ISP which offer you free 2 gigs a month with the slowest bandwith on the market.

The three major media and information technologies on the planet are TV, Radio and Internet. Im talking about making the 3rd just as free, easy to use and just as fast as the other 2.

Will this ever happen?

I guess the major hurdle anyone business person who is trying to conquer the 'free internet mountain'(trust me there are hundreds of them) Faces is the ability to keep the user watching or using their system.

Its obvious that the only way to make this all work is through advertising. But how could they possibly keep us entertained for so long that they make enough money to pay the line bills and profit.

This is a huge task.

What do you think?

In Spain we have a monopoly supplier called Telefonica.

I have what is called a 3mb ADSL connection. The maximum speed I have ever been able to download at is 350kb/s - when it comes to uploads, I am lucky if I get 35kb/s.

Until this crazy sort of situation is resolved, your view of an internet as fast as TV or radio will remain a dream.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

LOL, of course it does. You specified speed as a criteria for "free". Art's comments were laser targetted to your thesis.
