HTML or Plain Text with autoresponders

Hi all.. I realise that conventional thinking says that Plain text emails are a better bet to use with your autoresponder but to all of you heavy hitting email marketers out there is HTML email newsletters that much of an issue in terms of delivery?

I'm still working on getting down the methods for building a list up, but I can tell you as a list-member, I pay more attention to the marketers that send out plain text. I'm often looking at emails via my phone instead of on a computer, and HTML email tends to make everything too small to see.

There is much more what you can do with html than with plain text.

I send both plain text and html, and use minimal formatting in my emails, mainly bold, italic, underscore.

I also use strong call to action as anchor text for the link, which I find is the greatest benefit of html.

I only write the follow-up in text form. there is no need to bold, italic or cloak your link.

the basic link form for me has better conversion
