Company Newsletter, MailChimp Recommended?

With my UK business which i run with a small team, we now have a great emailing list and im not sure wheres best to get a free template to send our customers newletters.

We have over 900 followers on twitter and 100 on facebook and many people have requested to sign up.

Im looking for a very fun professional template, is Mailchimp a good choice?
Anyone used mailchimp?
Does it allow you to put content and images on and links?

Also does MaiChimp or any other newsletter service allow you to send it out to many people hiding all their personal addresses?

Mailchimp, Aweber and a few other are good. They offer autoresponders as well as newsletter systems. If you only want a newsletter system I would suggest you use a Wordpress plugin, provided ofcourse you are using Worpress. Joomla, Drupal and the others also have FREE newsletter plugins. Just go to thier sites and look under plugins.

    Hope this helps.

I've heard you have to be careful with Mail Chimp and they will shut your account down for mail affiliate links.

I don't know first hand so I can't confirm it.

I was the editor of the magazine for a huge Brit car club for almost 17 years. I created the newsletter in Pages, on my Mac. It was saved as a .pdf and then uploaded to the club website and members needed a link sent to them in an email in order to access it.

If you have webspace this could work for you.

Yes - all autoresponders do that. Clearly one can't disclose one's subscribers' email addresses to anyone else, unless they've opted in while specifically consenting to that.

Many Warriors have lost their lists and had their accounts closed, with Mailchimp, and with other "free" autoresponders, and posted warning threads here, explaining why.

It might still be suitable for you, though, as long as you have no intentions to do at Mailchimp or anywhere else any of the very long list of things prohibited by their terms of service (see especially section 11(f).)

But appreciate clearly that you can lose your account there by doing any of those prohibited things elsewhere, even while using Mailchimp only for activities they allow: these are not just "things people are not allowed to do at Mailchimp" - they're "things people are not allowed to do, while they hold a Mailchimp account."

The list of prohibitions, as you'll see, includes "affiliate marketing".

There are also some very relevant recent comments in these posts/threads ...
For myself, I would use Aweber or GetResponse, and nothing else. But that's only personal opinion/preference.
