Best way to create an amazon affiliate site?

Hey guys I'm new to the Internet market thing but I feel I'm ready to start and have decided to begin with amazon. My question is, what is the best way to set up a site for this purpose. My plan is to make a review site and focus on one main topic such as toys, and then have several sub pages with other things such as kids toys girl/boy ect. I plan to use wordpress to make the majority of my sites and have a running blog format on my reviews so it will be updated consistently. Does this sound like a solid plan?

Wordpress sites are perfect for this. Make sureyour reviews are unique. I would also recommend creating at least 1 Youtube video for every post you make.

I think the topic "toys" is still very broad. Find out which particular toy (or a category of toy) sells the best and focus on that one.

That sounds like a good plan to me. Just remember that you only make a small percent of the total sale so you need to get lots of sales. The more reviews you can get made the better.

Also, make sure your reviews are well written and unique. If you ever need some extra help writing reviews you can always contact me (shameless plug).

In addition, frankl's suggestion to make a youtube video with each review is a great one.

    Good luck!

Wordpress is a good platform to use. When you are writing, the best way to be successful is to give a personal touch to your reviews. Think about the things that you look for when you are reviewing a product and present that to your reader in a conversational manner. Don't just re-hash the info that is given to you on Amazon, but instead teach your readers both the good and the bad things about the toys you are reviewing. It will be more work but will pay off!

I second that. You can easily find a clean free theme to start with and buy a premium theme once you've made a few sales.

When you write reviews, it is also a good idea to cross-reference other products in the same category and write different reviews for each one of them. This way, you can literally bash a particular product, which will make you seem more legit, and still get sales in the back end.

Yes, use Wordpress. When you are starting out, every advantage helps. The fact is that if you have a problem in dealing with a WP site, someone here can always help or often times you can just Google the answer. As far as choosing Amazon.. Amazon can be a great source of income, yet you will still want to have a laid out plan and know what you are doing. In order to be successful running Amazon review sites you'll want to do a little more research than that. I generally try to stay away from lower priced items that you can find in every local store. When someone wants to read a review on something, it is often because they want to make an informed decision on something that is going to cost them some kind of money (ex. over $100). Most of my store products fall into the 2-500 range. When I am trying to pick a group of products to build a site around, I ask myself "Do people want to read reviews on this?".. Makes it pretty easy to proceed from there.
When you are writing reviews, try to make them personable. Focus on benefits and not features.. Most of my reviews are around 1000+ words, but they don't have to be that long to do well. Become involved in forums, discussions, etc. Offer quality to readers and they will reward you with sales.

I'm curious to know how people write reviews on products that they don't actually own or have tried out? How genuine can you be about a review on a toy that you don't actually have in your hand to see? This is what bugs me most about creating review sites, sure you can fake it, but does that really benefit the person reading the site?

As I research and learn more about IM before I delve in and take action, this question has appeared in my mind everytime I read up about affiliate marketing. It does not seem too many people are concerned with this. Doing a false review seems unethical to me, though.

Well, I can't speak to toys but I can speak about the niches I am in. Instead of providing reviews regarding performance of products and whatnot, I provide my opinion on things such as features and usage. Much of what I do is in the tech niche so I explain things in layman's terms for my readers. I talk about accessories and ho make the best use of selected products.

The term "review" is probably a bad term. What I provide can be more like opinion pieces based on my research of a product.

You can also do product comparisons and price comparisons.

It's quite easy actually if you are creative. What I don't do is fake reviews. They are lame.

    • WordPress is an excellent choice for Amazon sites because it is easy to use and comes with lots of free themes. After choosing your niche, write a few quality posts and product reviews and post them on your website. Add affiliate links and banners or set up an Amazon store within your site.

With Wordpress you can get your review site up and running with ease but you need to work on your research so that your toys site can be seen as giving expert authoritative information your visitors require for their buying decisions. Good Luck !

Using wordpress theme with azon plugin is better for amazon because you customer need information before they buy.
