JV Forum Out Of Control?

I'm sure some of you have seen how 'unruly' the JV forum has become.

Here are some reasons why I feel this way:

1. Newcomers making their first post or first few posts a JV post (I thought this was against forum rules)

2. Dubious posts of subscriber list counts with no proof to back it up (I suspect these are baits to lure big list owners to promote their product. Problem is, legitimate big list owners are usually too smart to fall for them)

3. People making multiple posts in different threads with the same reply. Some people call it spamming.

I think a little cleaning up is in order.

    Fabian,

I totally agree. I wouldn't mind seeing a $20 fee to post there just like the WSO and classifieds just to separate the serious JV proposals from the rest.

    Good idea, Curtis.

I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks to reduce the number of casual surfers who post up JV threads.

I've made a comment about this before.

It's not about JV forum being active, it's about compliance with the rule.

With no one being active in moderating that section of the forum it gets overused as a spam haven. The product review section isnt as bad but it is full of spam posts as well.

When I had mod status in a few of the sections like that I spent at least an hour a day clearing out the spam posts. It looks like now that there isn't anyone with mod status there that the sections are filling back up again.

I think the main problem is people are not using it as a JV forum any more.
Last time I looked it was full of ad swaps or people advertising affiliate links, neither of which qualify as JV's in my opinion.

Wouldn't the biggest and best JV's be handled privately anyway?

Amongst warriors whom already know each other.

Why I don't even bother with it.
