Adding Tracking ID to The "Direct to The Order Form" Affiliate Link.

3 replies
Hi! I found a vendor with a product that I really want to promote on ClickBank, but I didn't like his sales letter so I'll create my own and therefore I've got permission from him to link directly to the order form with my affiliate link from my own sales page.

I have the link here, I've used it before and it works great:

http:// clickbank.net/sell.cgi?MYID_MERCHANTID/ProductNumber/Product Name
But I want to track it with a ClickBank tracking ID too which is something I miss really bad. So does anyone know where I should implement the tracking ID into the link?

Thanks!

    What you could do is add an image code of your affiliate link with tracking id to your sales page so the visitor is cookied with your tracking id.

    Use an image code and place it just before the </body> in your HTML, like this:
    <img src="http://clickbank aff link with tid" width="1" height="1" />
    </body>

    Now just your original link which goes straight to checkout and see if the tid has been passed along.

    Hope that helps

    So it isn't possible to implement the tracking ID into the link huh?

    I found another link structure also which links directly to the order form (I use the Diet Solution Program as a example):

    http:// clickbank.net/sell.cgi?YOURAFFID_thedsp/9/BurnFatg&cbskin=113&cbfid=838
    Maybe it's easier to implement the tracking ID into this structure?

      here are a few Disadvantages:

      * The normal hoplink takes priority over this link: therefore an affiliate will not get commission if the visitor has previously gone through another affiliate's hoplink
      * The link does not set a cookie: therefore an affiliate will not get commission if the visitor later returns to the site without using that link
      * This is an unofficial link. It is not listed at the ClickBank site, so it can be withdrawn at any time. So use with caution.

      Another thought would be to ask the owner if you can direct link to the CB sale page and ask to paste js to the thank you page. With The Bevo Media Exchange - The Performance Marketing Exchange For Affiliate Marketing you have fingerprint tracking. no need to count on cookies, id's as fingerprint technology gets around this and if a user comes back after 400 to 500 days you still get the commission./
