I need help. I posted an article to ezine and they rejected it.The problem is I don't have a clue why, they're real general about what the problem is and tell me to go in and fix it. Is there a rule of thumb here? Something I can read up on to not have this problem in the future? Is this a stupid question?

I have only had a couple kicked back and have not found their explanation to be "general".
Usually the problem is fairly blatant...i.e. affiliate links in wrong place or leading to sites you do not own, etc.
Go to their guidelines, read through and compare to what you have submitted. Again, usually the problem is fairly blatant.

I've had only probably 2 rejected. The best thing to do is contact them. Do this by hitting the "Contact" button on the upper far right part of the screen after you log in.

Then, just ask why is was rejected. Try to be a little specific if you can. Sometimes they don't give you enought to do this. But, if it's keyword abuse or something, ask what keyword. Or, if it's something else, ask them to clarify whatever it is.

Usually, they'll do this. Then, just try to edit your article to try to conform to what they want. If it's a real problem, try to explain to them why you want (or need) to have your article read the way it does. They will reply...at least they did when I asked things like this.

It takes a little while to learn how to write according to their guidelines. But, don't give up, don't get discouraged. It's nothing personal, they just have guidelines they try to enforce and even though sometimes your article might sound worse to you after you made changes to get it accepted, it's probably O.K.

That's one thing I still at times can't figure out. How can you write an article about "Car Wax" if you can only say "Car Wax" once or twice in the article? Weird. But, I've written articles that didn't get rejected with a keyword mentioned a number of times. The articles, though, didn't sound like they were just a big advertisement blasting the keyword or phrase at the reader...that's key I think.

Anyway...just ask them...they'll tell you. Then adjust and try again. You'll get it.

    Hi Dave

Andy's right, just contact them and they'll tell you exactly what the problem is.

It may take awhile to hear back from them because they usually really busy, but generally you're better off waiting for them.

After a while you get so used to the rules that you won't get many rejections at all.

    Hope that's useful,

    David
