How To Make Article Reader BUY

Is it even possible to get a reasonable amount of money selling an affiliate product through articles? I thought that if I found kw's that showed searcher was motivated to buy it would be easy to real them in with an article.

However, I was wrong, do you guys think that it is smarter to just try to start building a list. Because I'm starting to think that most people just don't buy just from a recommendation of an article no matter how motivated they should be given the kw's they found that article with.

You are probably talking about article reviews right? well most people before they buy something, they are searching for reviews but that doen't mean that they will buy from a link in a review article, you see people want to know as much as possible before they buy something and they will read many article reviews before they buy (usually from the source). So it's always better to make them subscribe to your list and then you can promote similar products or the same but first you have to give them something of value for free...

I suppose technically, on a very, very occasional semi-random basis it's possible to make a sale here and there ... but it's not a sensible approach to affiliate sales, overall.

    No question.

Articles are not for selling products: they're for attracting traffic to build a list.

You can more or less substitute the words "affiliate sales" for "ClickBank sales" in this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5210243

Agreed. An article just isn't enough pre-selling to generate the trust and confidence needed for affiliate sales. You need to build lists for that.

To piggyback off of what Alexa said- you can definitely make direct sales from an article- I've done it, and probably lots of other marketers have as well.

But the best results will come from building trust- which means building a list.

It's possible, but there are so many sham reviewers just angling for a commission that readers have a much higher trust threshold than they used to.

Speaking of 'angling', you might want to check with your "Pro Article Writer" and let them know the word they wanted above was 'reel', not 'real'. You thought it would easy to reel them in...

It's not so much that they won't buy from a recommendation. Much depends on who is doing the recommending. Some anonymous schmo posting a typical 'buyer keyword' review has little chance of hooking any but the most naive. You either have to have some authority/credential that engenders trust, or you have to take the time to build that trust via multiple contacts. Best facilitated by building and nurturing a list...
