Pinterest Profits Weekly. Pinning with affiliate links.

I have just subscribed to "Pinterest Profits Weekly". Although I know how to add pins, I am not so sure about adding pins with affiliate links. I am uncertain about the mechanics of it.

Also I did read some weeks back about "Pinterest" hi-jacking affiliate links. Is there any substance in this, or is it another Urban Legend?

I hate to spend time adding pins if it's just going to be a waste of time.

    Well from my understanding that when you put affiliate links in a pin you have to cloak it using a url shortener or have the pin redirected to a splash page as pinterest doesnt allow straight out affiliate links.

    After you upload a pin click on it and hit edit. There below the picture you can add a link to to it. So anyone who clicks on the pic will go right to your splash page or offer.

    As for hi-jacking links I havent seen any instance of this.

      Before purchasing "Pinterest Profits Weekly" I had already started pinning on Pinterest. Comic related pictures as I had a comics website. Following the advice quoted above, I inserted a link to my site on 2 of the pictures on my Pinterest board. The two pictures in question were my own property.

      I do have several re-pinned pictures on my board (none of which appear on my own website, I would like to stress). If I was to add links to my site on these pictures (which of course are not my property) would I be commiting a major violation, or would it be acceptable practice?

    Yep 100% correct.....why try to cheat the system with affiliate links when you can build your own website and point the links to it.

    stay away from affiliate/CPA with Pinterest....I have made thousands of dollars by merely creating a web of accounts and selling repins/pins/likes/follows where the boards are SEO optimized by me.

    A lot of really satisfied customers and you don't have to see your affiliate links being disabled by Pinterest

      Thanks for the useful advice one and all. The way to go it seems, is just use the pins to point the way to a webpage or blog. Sounds simple enough.

      I am intrigued. How does this selling of repins, pins, likes and follows work? Is it something a novice like me can do, or should I wait until I get a bit more experience under my belt? Have to learn to walk before I run.

    You sure can East. I sell them on my own platform (at MyCheapJobs) and sell a couple of them a day for $10/pop. I also have a fiverr gig (keyword "pinterest" mine bounces around on the first page under "badgehelp") where I have sold at least 100 of them over there.

    Pinterest is hot and all online sellers know they need to get their product over there. It is an easy sell right now

      Thanks Mister Owls, you have confirmed that the selling of pins is easy enough for a novice like me. But I am still baffled by the concept....

      What exactly is it?

      How does it work?

      What exactly would I be selling?

      What do I need to do?

    I've heard that Pinterest has been an excellent source of advertisement for businesses. I'm trying to think of a good way to get my website on Pinterest in the hope of getting a client or two that way. I don't want it to be obvious that's what I'm doing though.

    Hi Megan,

    You could put some high quality images related to your niche on your site then pin them to a specific niche board on Pinterest. Don't know how that would fit with what it is you're advertising but that's the common way to get referral traffic to your site, especially if it gets repinned. That's why the image has to be good.

    I just signed up for a free account at Pinerly.com. It is a new site and it might take you a few days to get your invite. But it allows you to track all of your pins so that you can see what is working and what isn't.

    All you need to do is go to Pinerly.com and submit your email. I would imagine the between that and your Pinterest Profits newsletter you can really build some strong Pinterest profits.
