Am I the only IMer with an AOL email address?

I get made fun of all the time about my AOL address and was just wondering if there are any other brave souls out there who have held on to their AOL email address.

    I've spent the last 59 months building 412 MFA sites. Each site averages 8 cents per day...I said average, some make up to 17 cents per day, PASSIVE INCOME! This income allows me to live comfortably and buy ANY flavor Jolly Rancher or Skittles I desire. Don't give in to fear, it CAN be done!

    unfortunately gmail is the best option, but if you do a lot of SEO I would recommend staying away for google services, you give them way to much info...

    like - gmail, analytics, adsense, webmaster tools etc.

    Or maybe I am just paranoiac

    I used to work for an internet marketing coaching company a few years back. We would judge how good the person would be at using the internet/basic computer skills by their email address, and AOL was right at the bottom of the list!

      there was some chart a while back floating about the internetz which judged your personality on what type of email you used

      @yahoo
      @hotmail
      @gmail

      etc etc

    Most people moved away from AOL when they were still trying to force people to use their interface to the internet. When people realized there was a "real" internet instead of the "You've got mail." internet, they didn't want to have to put up with the cumbersome interface.

    As a company, they have had many "fails" I found an interesting page listing many of them:
    You’ve Got Fail: Celebrating AOL’s 25th Anniversary With 18 Examples of Fail | Techi.com

    They went from having a huge share of internet access to being thought of very negatively. This was probably a result of their penchant for overcharging, and for almost impossible to uninstall software. I remember a friend of mine saying, "Friends don't let friends use AOL" which was a reference to a popular anti drunk driving PSA at the time.
