50% Sign up rate good?

by ttdub 23 replies
I was curious as to how good my squeeze page is... I paid for a solo ad, and of the 100 people who clicked on the ad, around 50 signed up and also confirmed their email. I was curious if this rate means my squeeze page is good or not? Just trying to see where I can improve.

Thanks for any answers.

Yes that is great. Whoever you did the solo ad with keep using them. But also try to figure out how to increase those numbers if possible.

.....and the way to increase your numbers

      1. Improve your squeeze page - headlines, bullet points and keep it brief
      2. Beef up what you are giving away

Split testing is also a great way to test how you are improving. Have 2 squeeze pages that are exactly the same but with different headlines and see which one performs the best. Keep that headline

Go through each part of your squeeze page and change just one thing and split test. Each time changing one thing. You end up with a very effective squeeze page

Having said all this your results are very impressive already!

I would say that a 50% sign up rate is pretty good! You could always try a few tweaks and spot test to see if you can make it even better.

50% is very good, but more important is how responsive they are to your follow up emails and to you in general as you go along with them.

I know some marketers who say anything under 50% is too low, but in my experience 50% is very good and I would be pleased if I were you.

As mentioned ^^^, I would always tweak and test as you go to see if you can play with that to increase the %

    Are you for real?

You been on WF best part of 6 months, couple of hundred posts, and your asking if a 50% take-up is good!

You know damn well it's good. Someone with zilch marketing or internet knowledge would know it's good. So are you simply after some back slapping and pats on the head for a job well done?

Sorry if it comes across the wrong way but it's an insane question to ask as you already know the answer.

Actually, if you read the above answers, you will see that it's mixed. I didn't know if that was good, as I've never created a squeeze page before. The average percentages are completely different based on what IM approach you are doing, and I've never made a squeeze page before or tried to build a list, so I didn't know.

I've been here for 14 or 15 years, and most of the questions I could ask about some topics in this business would be much less rational-seeming to experienced players in the related fields. Nobody knows every field, and some people know only one thing well. But that's often enough.

Making assumptions about the expectations of newbies is a tricky proposition on the best of days. Someone with "zilch marketing or internet knowledge" might think 50% sucks, since they could expect almost everyone who goes to a signup page to... well... sign up. I've seen plenty of people who expected exactly that. They took it as a personal thing whenever anyone would unsubscribe, too.

Converting 50% of visitors to confirmed subscribers is great in some niches. In others, depending on the traffic source and pre-selling, maybe not so much. It's hard to say much more than "Doesn't suck" without knowing more about those.

    But it definitely doesn't suck.

ive been using solo ads for over many months and to get a 50% opt in with confirms is very good

dont forget though, if your squeeze page converts well then consider using a low priced OTO (one time offer)

using oto`s with solo ads work like gangbusters as long as you have a half decent offer page and funnel

I think 50% is a really high number. Imagine if you have 200 unique traffic every day? I think it's pretty decent but it indicates your sales page is decent to good.

To have 50% confirm is extremely good. You probably got more optins than you mentioned as some won't confirm because your using double opt in.

    Good job.

With solo investments I recommend you create a OTO. Tweak it until your breaking even or making profit and reinvest the money into more solos. This way you will build your list for free and at a much faster speed.

A recurring OTO comes to mind :-)
