Dear All Respect Expect & Guru

I would like to know how can I use shorten link or cloaking link like bit.ly to do affiliate link in Pinterest?

I saw some of the marketer use bit.ly and once you click it, the system link run and after that will come out "User was reported the link as SPAMMING"...

How can we ensure that the link we do will not go this type of error?

Thanks & Appreciated the reply.

Hi, I stopped using bit.ly following a similar incident.

In my case it was because... I shortened a link, and nothing happened. So I submitted the link again, and it shortened ok. Then, when I clicked on the shortened link, it first went to a 'WARNING: This link may be dangerous, proceed at your own risk' (or words to that effect) page, lol.

Not exactly what I was looking for , but it was because I submitted the same link twice (in the one account, I'm guessing).

Now I just buy a cheap .info domain and use a 301 redirect

Lots of simple plugins and other shorteners that can do this job without getting that message.

Thanks for the reply. I will try search from Google on how to do it. By the way, any idea to use it with Amazon Affiliate Link.

      From Amazon Associates Linking Requirements:

General Requirements Applicable to All Links

..you must not use a link shortening service in a manner that makes it unclear that you are linking to an Amazon Site.

    Hi,

Pinterest will strip out Amazon affiliate ID's from raw Amazon links automatically and Amazon made changes to their associates program requiring associates to identify themselves whenever you are selling their products so you'd have to put their statement in the description on every pin that was an Amazon affiliate pin. For that reason, I don't bother with Amazon stuff anymore.

For a few years now, I have used my own shortening service (trk.rdeent.com) through a company called ShortSwitch (shortswitch.com). This is in line with my company name and allows me to brand my links.

Hi, I also stopped using bit.ly. Have the same problem as MP80.
    I rather use original URL.
I remembered my first time purchased Solo Ads Clicks using bit.ly URL.
Just want to make sure everything go smoothly.
I clicked on the shortened link one week before Solo Ads day,
it appear "'WARNING: This link may be dangerous, proceed at your own risk" instead of going to my Website.
Immediately inform Solo Ads seller to change it but he forgot to change for me.
    Money throw into the drain.
Learning experience and want to share with you.

    Hi guys,

Don't use bit.ly or any other free link shortening service because that is exactly what spammers do and Pinterest has been automatically marking that type of link as spam and disabling them.

As suggested already, use either a domain-based redirect or a proprietary link redirect software / script but without actively cloaking (i.e. showing the target URL page as an iframe on your site) because this breaks the ToS of quite a few affiliate portals, including ClickBank. A straight redirect is fine.
