Default I'm lost in tools.... please show me the light!

Hi Guys,

I'm lost in IM tools.... I have to apologize... I'm a nerd. I really love technical stuff and tools.

But that's a big issue. I spend more time on testing new tools than on starting new campaigns...

This is what I currently have on my tools list:

Code:
Sorry for the xx Stuff in here. I'm not allowed to post links
so I had to cloak them.

hxxp://adgrenade.com

When you had to choose the TOP 3 products you would like to have to improve your PPC and Clickbank Affiliate marketing, which one would you choose.

My TOP 3 are currently:
Keywordspy
PPCBully
....Well Number three.. I can not decide.

Can YOU help me to pick the TOP three?

Thanks

I'm currently running two campaigns. Selling one german ebook and a membership site.

Well I'm not getting rich, but all together the stuff makes around 1000 Euros a month for me. And to be honest with... well maybe 3 hours work a week to add some new content to the membership site.

I'm started to look into clickbank affilate marketing a couple of days ago. But that's still at the beginning.

And as mentioned, I really like tools. And some of them can really help to grow.
Well, if I test a few more products, I could even create a membership site with reviews and tests of all the products :-)

So I'm just looking for other crazy tool guys who have tested a lot of the IM tools out there.

Thanks
Dan

1.) Decide on your business model

2.) Do it manually at first

3.) Decide which tools will help you automate the process

4.) That will decide the top tools you need

I'm a tech geek also. I look at other people's software and then design my own (so it's not like everyone else's).

But I've had to ask myself - what software actually helps me make more money and which ones are just "cool" to create/have.

For example, I've figured out a way to discover profitable niches without any paid software... so I don't create any or buy any for this purpose.

Yet I do use software to help determine the best marketing strategy for the keyword so I've developed my own marketing strategy software.

No one else can decide what tools you need for your business model.

I am in same boat....please let me know if you find the paddles on this one. I spend about one hour per day on new software. I set a limit... funny thing is I still use IBP, the most and wordtracker and google keyword tools etc. Come to think of it i am actually a little low teck....Good luck, but tools wont make you much money in the end..just work.
cheers

danwan,

I have to agree with McKay it really depends on what you are
going to do.

If you are going to go the affiliate route that you should decide
which of these is more to your liking as far as a plan.

Wealthy affiliate or commission blueprint pick one
and do it. You have way to many keyword tools and some
of them are monthly subscriptions. Why not kick those
to the curb until you get something going, use the ones
that are free or paid for.

As far as promotion you've got the best ppc tool out there.
I use Speed PPC all of the time "fantastic" and the support is great.

I've never used traffic geyser, but I understand it works
well, but again it's a monthly payment and are you going to
do video marketing right away?

You also have all you need for research purposes and tracking
so really you just need to decide what you are going to do,
get rid of a few things and go to work.

Try to use a few tools as possible and stick with
them because it's always a new thing to learn if you don't.

I've been using the same Dreamweaver program since 2002, still
works, still builds we sites. I've been a Nichbot customer
since 2005, still works, still finds me keywords.

You have way more than you need, start working on sales and
marketing. All of those tools will do nothing you have to do something.

Check how much commission other tools affiliate programs are offering.
Do a search for the keywords related to them, Which comes with more searches?

Take above two as criteria to pick affiliate programs.

Danwan,

This is a heartfelt message for you...

I have also spent a lot of time and effort buying and playing with tools. Call that a "hobby". But to earn a good income online is easy - it's not hard and doesn't require many tools at all.

Focus on one product then get your landing page set up and start building a list. Then sell your product to the list. Then sell your upsell to the list. Then sell your premium product to the list.

As I said, I have made the same mistake that you are making - just playing and oogling all the toys. NONE of them will make you the big bucks if you don't have a mission, an underlying goal to accomplish, a product and upsells to promote. The tools are only that - tools. If you don't have the plans for the house, it will never get built.

Make the plans and start building and only use the tools that you need to build it.

Good luck my friend,
Mike

you signed up for all those and pay?

I can tell you that the common opinion is that "Market Samurai" is the best KW research tool - and when it comes to online services i always see WordZe, KeywordSpy etc. mentioned.

Now i see your list is not ONLY about keyword research,...by coincidence i just blogged about Fast Blog Finder so i give this a 5 star rating since it IS useful.

I can also speak for commission blueprint (VERY nice) as well as MNF, for both i also have reviews on my blog somewhere. CBlueprint is a very nice, step-by-step guide for Clickbank marketing w/ PPC, covers many areas. Very well made.

But now, stop buying tools and DO something with them

danwan,

I am going to tell you how to make lots of money
with your tools.

I am assuming you know how to use them all.
If not learn.

Then get an affiliated id for them.

Then make videos of you explaining how to use
the tool and what it does showing people in the video
step by step.

At the bottom of your screen have your affiliate link
and at the end of the video have them taken to
a sales page with your link on it.

You could even have some bonus videos on some held back techniques
of how to use the tool that they will get when they buy through your link.

There you go danwan, cash in.

Default Re: I'm lost in tools.... please show me the light!

Thanks a lot for all your feedback.

After some testing I decided to purchase the following products. And after using them for a couple of hours already I really have to say that they are very helpful. Well at least for me, maybe others have different expirience.

Training:
commissionblueprint

Very Interesting Training. I'm promoting my own products since almost a year now, but CB ist new to me. So this training is very helpful for me.

Keyword Research:
Market Samurai and KeyWord Spy

Good Research Result. With a lot of details. You never know how good the data is, but this tools looks to be the closest when it comes to accuracy.
And currently the price is very interesting. When they implement all the features, that will probably increase.

PPC Promotion:
I still struggle between AdGrenade and SpeedPPC. I probably will go with AdGrenade. The price is interesting, and thei added a lot of features during the last updates. So the difference between SpeedPPC and AdGrenade is not that big anymore. The only thing I'm currently missing is the Landing Page dynamic keyword stuff.

Tracking:
I will stay with AdWatcher. Well it has a couple of bugs. At least for people from other timezones. The reporting is using the service timezone and not what I have configured in the profile. So some actions and sales show up in the yesterday report even if the purchase date is today. But I have reported it, and the will implement a private in a couple of weeks.
I currently don't need additional tracking capabilities.

Services like Statsjunkie and Statsremote look very interesting, but so far I really don't have a need for that. That's mabye more interesting when you run a couple of Aff programs and promote hundreds of products. So it's still on my list for the future.

I also still struggle with:
PPCBully / Sounds very interesting. But I saw some posts, that stuff like this could be blocked by advertisers. So I currently try to understand how this blocking stuff works. If it's possible to block that, or redirect PPCB to a different landing page this tool is not very usefull.

FastBlogFinder / Until now I'm not really using anything beside PPC to promote my stuff. I first have to take a look at the whole SEO and Backlink thing. Without understanding how that all works, I will not spend money on a tool.

I'm always open for additional ideas.

Thanks
Dan

I think what he really needs (and I do as well) is to understand how to do keyword research, what numbers are we looking for from the google tool, and then when we migrate to tools, it makes more sense.

Tools are just tools, they won't help you choose the right market to promote, they won't help you find the best keywords that filter buyers from info seekers, they won't help you to write an ad that triggers people need to buy...

PPC is technical but the bases of PPC is to find the right product to promote and to find the people who will buy it.

No tool can help you on that, it's just brain juice and experience.

Tools don’t make a garden… You can plant seeds with a sharp stick!…Ok, good tools can save on labour - but just collecting tools definitely makes you, well, a tool collector…
Become a marketer - Pick your top 3, file the rest away, and start making some green!

There are many people out there making good income using only free tools see article Google Analytics for example

All the best…

Hi Dan,

You may need to include video marketing in your list due to its powerful and quick effect towards you site ranking improvement. The thread by Sean on video assassin may give you a better picture. I need your comment on Commision Blueprint as I intent to grab it if I m convinced enough? TQ
