I've read a few places on here about old lists. Are old lists basically bad? I mean, does that mean eventually I'll have to trash a list? I was hoping to be able to build and continuously market to the old and newer members of the list. I want to continuously build more and more automatically generated emails.

Is there ever a point where you just quit sending out new emails? Can't it basically work like a blog?

I apologize if I'm asking too many questions in one thread, but I'm new at the list building part of all this.

The only way I can imagine a list not working is if it is an old list of freebie seekers that have proven never to convert or a list of emails that are made up of non-primary emails given; that then become obsolete because they are never used. Otherwise, you can educate anyone to want what you offer (within reason).

The "fresher" the list, the better it is...because
    of the Almighty Buyer's Mood!

It goes against logic, but the more recent a
purchase, the easier it is to sell a product that
    is of similar nature.

The same for the SRDS or any other kind of list.

thinking that the newer the list the better is completely wrong

list building is a long term process and the way your going to pick up customers and fans for life is over a period of time

the more you continue to provide great info and value to your list the more people will want to hear from you

the only marketers that think that only new lists are profitable are the ones that just hammer and burn there lists quickly

these types of marketers just "churn and burn"

they rely on bringing lots more new leads into there business daily just to make up for the high amount of un-subscribers

list building is about building a relationship and over a longer period of time your able to gain much more trust and credibility so when you send out emails your open rate and the responsiveness of your subs is way higher
