Warriors! Need help on choosing a domain extension!

Hello Warriors,
I have found a domain and wanted to buy that is a one-word catchy domain. But the problem is this domain ends with ".co.cc" extension. Is it foolish move to buy domain with this extension? I also would like to know:

  • Can I make an authority site with this domain?
  • Can I sell it to anyone?
  • Is it an extension (like .com, net or info) or a sub domain?
Please make me blessed with correct information. I am eagerly waiting for your kind response...

Thanks to all warriors!

I think if you want to register yourdomain.co.cc is available for free at co.cc
and if you want to make professional website then go with .com, .net, .org or .co
TLD always matters you also can get resell price in that.

I would stick with .com .net and .org. When people view your site it adds more credibility and if you want to sell it later on you will have a much easier time as well. Also, I have had a much better time getting organic search engine traffic with .com .net and .org.

I know that catchy domain name may be tempting but its just better in the long run to stick with those big three extensions.

    Good luck!

    Don't buy .co.cc domain.

Remember, Google once deindexed all .co.cc website? Google Delists All CO.CC Domains From Index

Don't take the risk. Buy .com, .net or .org and play safe.

Ya, I know the information is old. I mentioned "Google once deindexed(past tense)."

Google did this in the past, and they may repeat it again in the future, who knows.

        History repeats itself.

            Guys,

".co.cc" is not a domain extension.

Yes, I know everyone thinks it is, and talks about it as if it were, and that it says that on hundreds of "authority" internet marketing blogs, and so on. I'm afraid they're all mistaken about it.

            ".cc" is a domain extension.

".co.cc" is a domain (called "co") on the extension .cc.

What you're all referring to as ".co.cc domains" are actually only subdomains.

It's not like ".co.uk" which is a domain extension.

In the case of ".co.cc" the "co" part is the name of the domain, not part of the extension. Honestly. Don't even think about registering under that, because you don't own your own domain that way, and we've seen in the past what can happen to you - through no fault of your own site - in those circumstances.

It's all about perceived value. I would rather enter a site with .com, .net and .org than the one you mentioned. You are going to put in so much effort into building your Authority site so I personally think that you should start of with a good domain and proper keyword research. It will pay off.

    Thanks to all warriors!
As for selling it to someone, it's a lot less likely to sell with that extension. I would not buy a .co.cc. I stick to .com, .net, .org, .info and .co. Some do well with other extensions like .me and .tv, but they have less resale value to buyers unless they have a really dynamite site on them.
