Best Shopping Cart Solution

Greetings,

I would like to sell physical and downloadable
products online.

The following solutions did not meet my
requirements.

I am looking for a better solution than...

DAP (Digital Access Pass) - No Thank you!
Nanacast - No Thank you!
1 Shopping Cart - No Thank you!
eStore / Tips and Tricks - No Thank you!
PayPal - No Thank you!
eJunkie - No Thank you!

All of the solutions above are great
however, if you purchase an eCommerce
solution without first checking to make
sure it will be the BEST solution for your
niche/product/service, you will waste a
TON of valuable time, like I did.

For those starting out, finding a good
eCommerce/marketing solution could
undoubtedly be one of your greatest
challenges.

Looking for the following:

1. Robust Shopping Cart (must work with WordPress)
2. Affiliate plugin
3. Membership plugin
4. OTO/Upsell etc., capability
5. Outright software/script purchase (NO monthly fees)
6. Other complimentary add-on plugins
7. Other (necessary) bells and whistles (if possible)

Does anyone know of a solution that meets the
above requirements?

Thank you, kindly,
Frank Wellington

I have tried many of them but the best what I have met is OpenCart. Easy to modify and add-ons are not so expensive than others have.

I attempted to use Paypal and eJunkie and they didn't satisfy me. I'm now using WP E-Commerce (a free plugin with paid upgrades) combined with a store theme from Elegant Themes and it is working like a dream. The theme was designed to work with the plugin, so they go together seamlessly.

The plugin can link with many different payment processors on the back end as well, and it's very easy to setup.

      Hello JaRyCu,

      Thanks for your awesome tip!

Can you please tell me if you
are using the Gold Cart, along
      with additional plugins?

      If so, which ones?

      I would like to implement
      a membership and affiliate
      program at my website.

      Can you please expound?

I am new to this site and
      do not have the privilege
      of sending you a PM.

      Thank you, kindly,
      Frank

Yes. Try Woo commerce for wordpress. Any functionality it doesn't have can very easily be added through their many extensions. That's not to mention the added functionality (like membership capacity) you can add via a wordpress plugin. There are thousands to choose from.

Also I think this solution is better the WP commerce for wordpress. Have tried them both and much prefer woo commerce.

    Wishing you all the best.

Leave blogging for Wordpress and e-commerce for shopping cart providers.

no Wordpress affiliate plugin work perfectly for tracking affiliate sales. I have worked with couple of premium affiliate plugin. Nanacast has correct affiliate tracking ability but a bit pricey. Rather than these, you can use plimus for your product promoter.

For e-commerce site you can use any woocommerce theme, it's pretty good.

Hello! There are lots of sites with the services you want but you just have to find them yourself. But if I were you, I would try using OpenCart. I find it really effective and really easy to use. You should try it. I hope that helped you in a way or so. Best of luck!

    Have you tested all them?

What does Nanacast not do, which you require to be done ?? as they are regularly adding updates.

well i don't really know what you are going to sell if its 5 products or 1000+ products.

for big & serious ecommerce im using prestashop (free, but addons and themes cost you) and magento - both of them are really at the top of eCommerce today.

im running a big site on prestashop and i couldn't be more happier.
you can make a great, beautiful, user friendly , seo friendly site in a couple of days.

    that is my advice

      Hello Metalice,

      Thanks for the awesome information.

Took a quick glance at Prestashop... AWESOME
      piece of software.

However, the add-ons are bit pricey for
      what I'm looking for.

Magento is not necessary at this time.

I am seriously looking at the much
reviewed and disliked - WP eCommerce.

      Thank you,
      Frank

        Update...

I am seriously looking at WP eCommerce.

Before you start sniping, allow me to
        share what I have found.

A quick THANK YOU to JaRyCu for
his insightful post to this thread.

The reviews on WP eCommerce are horrific
for the most part. I've learned that when so
many people oppose something, it's definitely
        worth investigating.

Also, if it's that bad, it's VERY possible that
        the developers may be sooooooo
embarrassed that they eventually they fix
        the problems.

I've downloaded the program and I'm giving
        it a whirl.

        We'll see what happens.

        Thank,
        Frank

THE BEST shopping cart solution is one that DOES NOT require the buyer to register...

You want it quick and easy for a shopper to get what they want and get out. The more hoops you put a shopper through to get a product, the more shoppers you will lose.
