Question on KDP.Select

Hello all -- Just a quick question about the KDP Select program. I understand that you cannot list your ebook anywhere else for 90 days, and not even on your own website? Well, what if your website LINKS to Amazon/Kindle directly to your ebook's buy page?

Any clarification is appreciated!

You can promote your book on your own site (or any site for that matter).
However you can't sell it, or publish it for free, on any other site, including your own.
    I hope this helps.

      Thanks for that Izerman --
... But on my website, my books are listed with a linkback to Amazon buy page... that is what I was unsure about. They are the only option to purchase on my site. That should be ok as far as common sense would dictate, I believe. I just don't know if KDP.Select would recognize that...

Thats fine as long as you are not selling the book through your own site. Like through a paypal link etc... If you have the book listed and the buy button or link that goes to Amazon to purchase the book, that is fine.

Basically they want to have the "exclusive" on your book. They don't want people to be able to buy it anywhere else. The still want you to be able to promote it though - more sales for you = more money for them.

Not only can you link to it but you can link to it with your Amazon affiliate link and earn a little extra money.

Amazon state that your work hasn't to be available 'digitally' so obviously we can offer print books at the same time as being on select.

I need to know whether I'll still be able to let people listen free, as I think this will actually encourage buyers. Although I suspect the answer will be no.

    Anyone know for sure?
