Embedding Youtube into Wordpress

Yep.. there are a few but I always use JW Player .. it just does the job really well and has the options you need in some cases on some blogs.

Yes - I have tried this - but when I install the plugin, i don't see an icon that allows me to actually use the plugin. Is there something I have to do further after I install it to be able to use it?

I tried that plugin last spring (2011) and never got anywhere with it. Try this one instead:

WordPress › WP YouTube « WordPress Plugins

It has a ton of options that you can customize and it's what I use on my sites.

I'm using Smart Youtube. Just copy and paste the link of your video and in the http:// area, just add httpv:// to enable the plugin. You can also turn off the sharing and ads on the videos if you like.

I've had success with using the old embed code and manually changing a =1 in the code to a =0.

Hello Deborah,

Have you checked by any chance the Traffic Player Plugin? The plugin has a number of video skins to choose from in order to enhance the looks of your videos.

It can hide all of the youtube video control so the viewer will have no clue that it's a youtube video.

This is truly a way to go to embed videos on your site without installing the video player or uploading videos to your server. However, you can host your videos too if you like and this plugin still can handle it.

I've recently started using VTubeTools - Custom youtube embed players with parameters like playlist, autoplay, loop, bb code (free site) when I need to generate the the HTML code and set special parameters for the the video player.

What you need specifically is ?&showinfo=0" at the end of the video URL

If you want to hide everything for youtube-embeded video use something like this:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/blahblah?autoplay=1&controls=0&modestbranding=1&re l=0&showinfo=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This will hide controls completely, hide the youtube logo, disable related videos at the end and hide the video info...
