Affiliate Program Promoting

Hello,

We have just begun a new affiliate program.

most people are suggesting I use twitter to promote but i'm confused as how this helps?

how do i get followers and how do i search for affiliates to ask to follow me?

i know my site does not have a twitter icon yet, its being worked on but since i have no traffic to the site no one will follow me.

only affiliates who signup will typically follow my account.

im @affiliatesgp

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    The main way I gather affiliates for new products is through my follow up series.

    Through observation, I've often noticed that a happy customer becomes a great affiliate; of course the easiest way to gather affiliates is by actually having a product worth promoting.

      You should have them all on one auto-responder service; I like Aweber.

      You can import your email list to an auto responder (either getresponce or Aweber) then you are able to send your list email easily.

      Auto Responder is the easiest way to share your affiliate program to your email list. If you have thousands of responsive emails subscribers in Auto Responder, just one click you can send all of them.

      This would have a lot of pros and cons. Sure, you can get some affiliates that way, but also you can lose a lot of your customers. It's really important what product you are selling and also the way you will promote the affiliate program to your customers. If not doing it right can be harmful to your business.

    Customers can end up becoming affiliates at the end of a series of interactions and more so, if they themselves feel they are the best fit to promote your product. However, it may not necessarily always be the case.

    Make a twitter and make it look prety. Tweet some infos about your product. Try to make the infos interesting and useful. You must give the potential costumer a reason to follow you!
    After you made your acc, you are ready to start following people( 50% of the users you follow, will follow you back ). Start with 30-40 per day, after you reach 1000 followers, you can start following more agresive ( 100-200 ).
    Be sure that the people you are following are actualy interested in your niche. You can use the search button to see who has tweeted something about your product( there are also some softwares that can help you in finding relevant traffic ).
    This is a slow procces, but in the end you will have an account filled with users that are interested in your niche.

    Twitter can be useful, but you could also promote the program on click bank.

    I would also target high ranking blog owners in your particular niche who would put your request for affiliates (for a fee) on their site. I would also contact by PM the guys on here who regularly post WSOs for they have large lists (if your product is IM).

    If you would like to get affiliates, you better to launch your product on Clickbank. Affiliates could request to promote your product without you need to ask them.

    If the product in IM niche, you could also launch the product at WSO Forum and use Warriorplus as your affiliate management platform. You'll get a number of affiliates easily, from day one.
