Infographic: How to Create An Awesome Infoproduct

Hey Everybody. Given that so many people liked my last infographic (seen here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...tion-work.html), and since I enjoy making them so much (even though it is time consuming and tedious to do), I decided to make a couple more infographics, and create a new blog to hold them all.

Here is my most recent one. I just finished it this morning (really, REALLY early), and I have no idea how long it took me to make. I'm guessing several hours. It's quite a bit longer than my last two. Enjoy.

P.S. The link for the "YouTube Creator Playbook", which is referenced to in this infographic, can be found here: YouTube Creator Playbook - YouTube

Hey Josh. I really love those infographics. You've done a nice job on them. A picture can explain a process so much better than words.

For some reason, I am not seeing the graphic? Getting the broken link icon in IE and blank space in FF.

I couldn't see it in the post either but visited the first link and then his blog to check them out.

Well, now I can see it - go figure.

I like it, Joshua. The info is good and the set-up works. The one thing that I think could improve is using more color. It's rather bland with the monochrome scheme.

Alright. I'm not trying to be a perfectionist or anything, but I thought I'd try a different color scheme. Let me know what you think: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/82178681/inf...nfographic.png

I updated the OP with a different color scheme. I would describe it as tropical. But more colors, yes?

LOL. I guess it'll be a while before I get this infographic design thing down to a science. Thanks everyone for being patient with me while I try to figure this out.

These are excellent - and it's tremendous that you're making them available to others to use on blogs/sites etc., very helpful. You could have a new sub-niche on your hands, here.

Thanks Alexa. I'd like to just keep posting them here on this forum as I make them, but now that I have a blog, could that be construed as spamming?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind removing all references to that blog, or even the blog itself. I just want to keep getting feedback.

Speaking of which, should I make a thread for my "how to write an article" infographic? I didn't do that...

                Joshua,

I don't think you have far to go at all. I liked the earlier infographic you posted on the forum and I like this one. The setup and layout of this one is excellent, I think.

As to the color scheme, I liked the first one better. I don't care for the background color on this one. That's just personal tastes, though.

OK, I switched to the old background/color scheme, but added some color and removed some clutter. Thoughts?

And thanks for your feedback thus far everyone, it's really very helpful .

But sheesh, maybe I should just stick with the color scheme I used in the first two. Everyone seems to like those.

I used InkScape. It's the free alternative to Adobe Illustrator, kind of like how Gimp is the free alternative to Photoshop.

I've recently became interested in infographics as a way to promote my online business and I'm currently working on creating my first infographics. I'm really excited by the potential such images offer, I found a great resource discussing how one can utilize infographics in online marketing here: rubymediacorporation.com/blog/infographics-a-powerful-tool-to-promote-your-business-brand/ I'm wondering if you have any advice on how to approach this very first infographic in terms of design ideas? Did you find some ideas work especially well or poor for your infographics? Any suggestions are most welcome.

Good stuff Josh! I could see a series of product creation infographics.

An entire infographic could be dedicated to each of your subtopics above, then you could do one on formatting, promotion, cross-selling, creating a series of titles...

    Yep, the possibilities are endless.

Great job! Looking forward to what you come up with next.

    All the best,
    Michael

I think infographics add a sense of credibility and authority to a website, as long as they look professional and are not filled with spelling mistakes, etc. People are accustomed to seeing them on government websites and authoritative news sites. That sense of authority gets transferred to any website or blogger who is using infographic-style content.
