I can't figure out how to add a blog to my new site The Success Empowerment Institute I can't figure out what script is being used and how I can add a blog to it. I don't want to have to add wordpress and have a custom theme made. Any ideas?

You should ask what script the site is using from whomever you bought it from or built it. It may also be a custom made website. That's all the advice I can give since you don't want to use a different script (like WordPress) for the blog.

That is a HTML website. SO best IMHO would be to have the blog on a subfolder with WP on it like: yoursite . com/blog

This way you wont interfere with the original website. And the blog will be a website on its own!

I know of no other way other than create a blog in Wordpress with a similar theme and link to it. The theme, color scheme, etc. doesn't look to be too difficult to replicate.

Thank you everyone, I haven't tried those Bret, I will look into them. I'd like to just make a new page called Blog and let them send all of the posts there. Doesn't look like it will be that easy though. Hoping a dev will come along and have a simple idea for me.

    Mary,
Like others have said you can use WordPress as well. Your visitors wouldn't know when they are actually on your site or your blog if set up right. I have a free video here Bret Ferguson Online - How to Start Your Online Business - How to install wordpress that will show you how to set it up. Let me know if you have any question.

I use word press. Well, it is open source. Also, there are many add on for it. Oh yes, we do say many. Most are easy to install and do not use a lot of system resource. However, be careful as some are pigs. These can get you kicked out by your web hosting company. OK now, all the best to you.

Download WordPress from wordpress.org, and you will find the instruction inside.

What's wrong with wordpress? Easy to install and tons of free plugins.

    Hi Mary,

Nice to see you. I think I worked for you at one time? I own Warrior Help . com and installed niche sites for Affiliate Power Group and My Affiliate Power Site. I am not sure by what you mean "I'd like to just make a new page called Blog and let them send all of the posts there." If that means TSEI will be actually posting (not you) then it is easy as long as TSEI has everything ready to do it. Normally, you would just login into the member area and submit the domain on a form with a few details.

The suggestion from sbucciarel (Suzanne) is the easiest way to do what you want to do without any complicated fuss. Keep in mind that TSEI will need access to the blog to post to the blog, so you will need a up-to-date theme, i.e. not an out-of-date theme that does not support 2nd party access. If you are the same Mary Green I worked for at one time then the theme we used is up-to-date and easily customizable to match your site.

    Jeffery 100% :-)
