Using Stationary Background Images In Videos

What is involved in producing a video with my moving, talking image in which a stationary background such as the U. S. Capitol building or a south sea island or any other recognizable image is seen in the background?

An example would be a political or sales pitch that appears to be made by me from another location.

There must be several techniques, I would think.

Thanks,
Alton

What you need to do is shoot your video using a blue or green screen. Actually doesn't matter what color as long as what you are wearing is not the same so you can chroma key the background.

Then using something like Sony Vegas you simply add your background and chroma key out the background of your original video to show thew one in the background and you will see yourself where ever you want.

Yep. Essentially that is done with blue/green screen and some video software that has a "chroma key" feature. If you search that term on Google you will find tutorials for various software that can do it.

The key with this type of thing is to use the highest resolution camera you can get and most importantly, make sure the screen and subject are properly lighted. Softbox lighting is good for this.
