Stuck in a Traffic Jam?

Did you know there are 492 threads on this forum with the word 'Traffic' in the title?

Now, you might imagine out of almost 500 threads with the word 'Traffic' in the subject title that in the comments to each of these threads there just might be some superb advice on offer.

Yet every day there seems to be more and more people asking a near identical question, "How do I get more traffic blah blah blah to my..." Well, you get the picture.

Does it ever cross your mind some of you to use the search function on this forum?

You can find it right here...

http://www.warriorforum.com/search.php

Lo and behold in the left hand box if you select Titles and put in the word Traffic and then in the box on the right hand side select your sub-forum of choice amazingly enough... you'll get all the answers you could possibly wish for concerning this topic.

But how many of you actually use it?

Go on, give it a try. It might just yield for you extraordinary results. You might just turn up one single nugget of advice which could be the game changer to your traffic nightmare.

Just a quick suggestion.

Warmest regards,

Mark Andrews

You are correct, Mark. Most of our fellow Warriors don't just use the "Search" functionality of this forum to find an answer(s) to their questions. It's just a matter of a Do-It-Yourself kind of thing.

The "search" function has to be the most underutilized thing on this forum... Every day there must be half a dozen "how do you generate traffic" threads

All the info is right there, all you have to do is search for it - there are bound to be loads of people who have asked similar questions to you...

Well, the problem is there are sooooo many of them. There should be a way to merge them into on topic. It would help amazingly.

I am not sure if Allen Says will buy this idea. I would suggest:

      1. There must be a window that will require the OP to type the subject or title of his thread/post.
      2. Once he hits the "Search" button, the system will trim the words that the OP typed into the Search Box.
      3. The system will then find some matches that also contains those strings from the existing posts.
      4. The system will then show those relevant search results to the OP.

Needless to say, when the OP finds a thread that is almost or exactly the same with his post-to-be, he won't be publishing a new thread anymore because his questions might have been already answered by one or two of those relevant Search Results. Sort of a Help Center.

Seem that ultimately traffic is the most important thing in IM.

No. Targeted traffic + fantastic product + mouth watering sales copy. They can't coexist in peace without each other.

Most people that come to the forum are looking to be spoon feed answers, they don't want to search for the answers that are already there.

It's not just people on the forum that are like that, it's most of the worlds population, it's how we (most people) are.

Which is why most fail. Because they cannot be bothered to take the action required to get them the results they're looking for.

There's wishful thinking and then there are action takers. People who want to get ahead and are prepared to get off their lazy backsides to make it happen.

I think half of the problem is that it's not uniform with the rest of the Internet. If you go to almost any other site out there, there's no "hidden search feature" and no requirement to register before using it.

It's just there, out in the open. A little box you can type into and a little button next to it called 'search.'

Maybe Allen could modify the site's theme just a hair and make it more uniform?
