More Than 500 Views Per Article

Dear Warriors,
Here's a link to profile of an ezine expert author Sean Mize http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sean_R_Mize.

When I clicked and opened most of his articles I was shocked to see most of his articles are getting massive amount of hits. Except few newer articles almost all of his articles have more than 500 views (for some articles number is so big you may end up with your mouth wide open).

Don't you think it is really something very strange and impressive. We all know Sean Mize as one of the well known and reputed member on warrior forum and by no means I want to say anything wrong about him. But how he really managed to get that amount of hits to almost 95% of his articles. Shocking and surprising.

Strange - perhaps - yes. Impressive, not so much, to me.

Bear in mind that Sean is an article directory marketer: he's trying to use Ezine Articles for its own traffic and its own backlinks.

    Same here.

Certainly not something I'd want to do, myself.

I'm happy to use article directories for their intended function and purpose of being a stepping-stone, to get my articles in front of prospective publishers.

For all the reasons explained in this post and especially in this post, I'd hate any of my potential customer traffic to find an article directory copy of one of my articles rather than the one originally published and indexed on my own site.

    I checked out your link.

25,170 published articles achieved 2,982,082 views.

That's an average of 118 views per article. Exactly what is massive about that? And exactly what is so strange and impressive, shocking and surprising, about that? I would say it's extremely poor, in fact dreadful or am I missing something here?

I submitted ONE article a year ago to a well known blog and received 145,000 views, resulting in 7,200 hits and 397 subsequent sales at £11 a throw. If anyone is interested in the link to see, PM me.

There are hundreds of such blogs, e-zines, and similar websites that I could have continued to submit to, and I've got enough quality, totally exclusive, and readily available material for hundreds of submissions . . . without any kind of spinning I might add. In fact, I could GUARANTEE myself 2 million+ views from one place alone from ONE submission. Again, if your interested in the link, PM me. (If you've a compatible niche maybe we could do something)

The only reason I've not progressed things further is that some serious sh*t happened in my life, some of which is ongoing, and personal reasons and finance have prevented me. There again, I mentioned this fact previously in another thread on this wonderful, caring WF, and was unceremoniously slated by a know-it-all bigot (you know who you are) who said money doesn't prevent you doing anything. Unless you know someone's exact circumstances you should never pass judgement.

. . . I'd just like to add that those 25,170 articles that Sean R Mize submitted were over a 6 year period. That's 6 whole years of your life.

So what would you prefer? Spend 6 years of your life to achieve total views of almost 3 million with 25,170 submissions, or 2 hours of your life to achieve the same result with a single submission? Think about it.

Most good writers I know put out 1 or 2 quality pieces per day. Some can do more, some take a couple of days to make sure things are absolutely perfect. Then there is Sean Mize. Looks like every time he publishes, he puts out 10+ at a time. Probably outsourced. Regardless, there is a stark difference in the quality level between articles like his and articles that the first group I mentioned write.

              Exactly Joe!

Quality always beats quantity, as more of the same crap does not bring change to crap.

Well, unless you're in a contest to win the most crappiest articles posted contest, then indeed quantity wins. :p

I could write anything between 3 - 20 as I already have the material, but it's my aim to simply submit 1 or 2 top quality articles per week as the idea is to keep people hanging for more and not saturate the market.

I agree entirely 100%. That's why I responded to this thread in the first place. I see outputting over 25,000 articles as ridiculous, a waste of time and resources, and more importantly - unnecessary. Quality always over quantity.

One article per day is my limit. (Actually 24/25 per month).

I need the articles I write to make the owners of authoritative ezines and websites (those are the people with all the highly targeted traffic I want) sufficiently impressed with my articles to want to share them with their readers/visitors/subscribers. Otherwise they're just not going to publish them. So I need every article to be presenting new information (or at the very least, convincingly appearing to!) in an entertaining, readable, interesting and/or provocative way.

              It's worth it.

One article, widely published, can attract many thousands of highly targeted visitors. Those people are non-SEO traffic (always a plus ), and I haven't even had to "target" them myself.

              Many opt in; many buy.

It all leads to some true, gradually increasing residual income from work already done. It's a real, asset-based business, not a "rinse and repeat".

It's worth the effort. But - even for an experienced writer - it is an effort.

These are not articles you can just "buy for $10".

Which would you prefer: to have an article in Ezine Articles which gets 500 views, and sits there, or to have an article in Ezine Articles which is read by 10 publishers, 3 of whom re-publish it in their ezines which collectively have tens of thousands of already targeted subscribers who value, respect and trust the ezine content?

Which will bring you better traffic, and make you more money?

It's not a difficult question, is it?

I'd be impressed if those 500 views led to said article being published on a relevant site/blog/ezine. Otherwise, I feel like I'm looking at one of the largest wasted efforts ever. What was the saying, something like it takes 50,000 EZA backlinks to equal 1 from a relevant website? If he is posting for SEO benefits, he is halfway to one backlink after 6 years.

Have to agree with Alexa Smith all the way on this one.

She knows what she is talking about when it comes article marketing and shed a lot of light on my article writing ventures.

Once you know that submitting your articles to you site first is the best way move forward you can sit back write till your hearts content knowing you do not have to rely on how many views you are getting from Ezine Articles!

Anyway I may be wrong but those views may be from other website owners looking for content and if he has written thousands of articles anyway those people who are taking those articles as content are going to count as view anyway.

Just a guess but at least I am at peace with the whole article marketing thing thanks to Alexa!!!

Strange yes. Impressive not at all. As many people know Ezine got hit hard over the past few panda and penguin updates. Hits hits could reflect a looooong time ago over over optimization of article marketing. Nowadays I'm sure his traffic has dropped tremendously just from ezine. I think you are better off always placing your own content on your own sites. I mean even with 500 visits to 1 article how much does that really convert on ezine..a site slammed with ads everywhere you look?

    Just my 2 cents.
