Hey guys, recently I have been downloading from and uploading to youtube and it seems I have no problem with my account. Before that, I assume youtube would have problem with duplicate content but this practice proves that there is no problem. When I upload the videos, I would spin the title and description a little bit in order to get some traffic through different keyword variations. Some of the videos get high traffic but others get little. Some of the contents have a sign says it matches third party content but it would not pose any threat to my videos or account. Have you got any problem with uploading duplicate videos to youtube?

Downloading > Watermarking > Uploading it's not a good idea. It's always better to create your own videos.

    Best Regards,

I personally would be upset if Youtube was allowing other people to swipe my videos that I have taken time and trouble to create.......Hope your not doing this

I agree with the ddev and Jim, if you are using other people's work especially without their knowledge that is pretty lame. Now for your original videos, you can indeed move a picture, edit the video slightly different, change a title, and get some good exposure to your videos. Keep in mind Youtube watches for this kind of thing so you want to post these variations of your videos on different accounts. I have read 15-20 videos on an account is a good idea. If you have something that is converting well, I would recommend checking up on it every now and then to make sure it didn't get removed.

Consider Youtube is cracking down on copyright issues, I really suggest you be careful. Are you downloading other people's videos? If so, not the best idea...

I recommend to create your own videos and if you have to download someone elses videos then check for the Creative Commons-Attribution licensed videos!

If you made your own video and want to try different variations of titles, descriptions, tags, you might consider editing video itself and putting different versions on different accounts...

There are easy ways to create your own original videos with no risk, there is no point risking your account (which will eventually get banned) doing that sort of stuff.

So you steal someones video and change the title and description and upload it as your own?

That doesn't prove there's no problem, it proves you've got away with it, so far.

Hardly something I'd recommend and I hope everyone doesn't start doing it.

I know a burglar that robs houses, he hasn't had any problems yet either, perhaps you could try this?

I have just checked some of my videos today and found that someone has copied one of mine, complete with the description. I can tell you that I am not happy. I put effort into making the video and writing the description (plus monet for the software to make it) and the person who has copied it is basically just stealing. This is not an ethical way to do business.
I will certainly be reporting this person to Youtube.

Definitely the wrong move. I have videos stolen by other and I am really annoyed.

YouTube is smart. Eventually they will find out sooner or later and you account could be shut down.

This is a risky move and not ethical.

    Don't do it!
