Suggestions for content on network of sites

2 replies
Ok I will try to make this long story short, basically I have been given the task to take over a network of sites/domains, over 200, that were making money before the google updates but now hardly get any traffic after the updates. The sites have not been de-indexed it just had a third party revenue sharing program on all of these sites that no longer perform well plus the onsite SEO is horrible. So I plan to drop this and use in house data/business listings for each of these sites. These domains are geo targeting premium domains, meaning these are exact keyword matching domains that have high keyword searches. Plus I have access to provide quality back links from PR5/6 domains. So I know I can improve the sites at this level.

The reason for this post is, do you have any suggestions on coming up with content for over 200 domains? As you can image the cost to pay for unique content for all sites would be expensive and I am not a writer myself. So any thoughts/suggestions?

    It's difficult to give you clues as you don't mention what topic areas (niches) your sites address. You are certainly going to be busy with 200 sites and will need outsourcing our auto-content which, from my own experience, is hardly worth touching but I do set high standards for my own sites. You could try something like Jonathan Leger's Thrifty Content (Low Cost, High Quality Private Label Rights articles every month! @ ThriftyContent.com). He supplies 75 articles/month on a large variety of niche topics for a sub fee of $10/month. I tried it but quit as the articles are too generic for my liking. I am a freelance writer and you are welcome to contact me (links in signature) if you need any specific help.

  • For the onsite and offsite content of 200 sites, you need to hire full time content writers and others with video development and graphics design expertise. For instance:

    You can assign one dedicated content writer to write the content of your 50 sites per week. For week 2, ask this person to contribute useful info and advice in contextually relevant discussion pages under contextually relevant sections/categories of contextually relevant Web forums and social networks. Tell this person that the main objectives for his or her week 2 tasks include:

    =>> Funnel traffic from those Web forums and social networks to your 50 sites...
    =>> Build contextually relevant, high quality backlinks in those Web forums and social networks...
    =>> Have those backlinks indexed by Google and your linked onsite content also indexed by Google...

    Then, for week 3, ask this person to write new onsite content for your 50 sites. Also ask this person to submit the onsite content he or she developed for week 1, to ezine networks and content syndication channels with large active publisher bases comprised of owners/administrators of contextually relevant sites in relevant niches who frequently need content they can publish on their sites and newsletters for the benefit of their viewers. You gain traffic and quality backlinks in a diverse set of sites by asking this person to do this for your 50 sites.

    For week 4, ask this person to do the same week 2 tasks, but this time for the new onsite content he or she developed in week 3. Also ask this person to find and contact owners/administrators of contextually relevant sites in relevant niches, to offer content that they can publish on their sites and newsletters for the benefit of their viewers. You gain traffic and quality backlinks in a diverse set of sites by asking this person to do this for your 50 sites.

    So, you need to hire four content writers, so you can do these for your 200 sites. These things will improve the overall quality of your sites, in terms of viewer experience, and will also drive traffic to your sites. Plus, these satisfy what seems, based on our test results, what Google now values more, with Penguin, which include:

    =>> Frequent onsite content updates, the Penguin sub component called "Freshness"...
    =>> Contextual relevance and diversity of backlink sources...
    =>> Social proof...

    Now, for onsite content diversity and further backlink source diversity, you need to hire 2 persons, each one assigned to develop videos for your 100 sites, improve the visual presentation of your onsite content from your writers, use your onsite videos for video marketing purposes, do Web forum and social network marketing to promote your onsite videos and submit your onsite videos to video syndication networks with large active publisher bases comprised of webmasters frequently searching for videos they can publish on their contextually relevant sites with high authority in your niche for the benefit of their viewers.

    So you need to hire 6 people, particularly 4 content writers and 2 video developers/graphics designers with experience in Web forum, social network, video and video syndication marketing. The only thing left is to plan your budget...
