I'm trying to get an understanding of standard practice, or etiquette for contacting merchants about an affiliate relationship, and I would appreciate your input/help/opinions... thanks.
My main question is... is it standard practice for a merchant to give you a preview copy of their product if you ask them to be their affiliate? In other words, I'm interested in selling a merchant's product as an affiliate. Is it normal for them to send me a copy of their product (if it's an info-product), or is it common to get a discount (say, cost + shipping) of a hard product? I only have a few lists and I see opportunities to become an affiliate for several products, but I don't want to send my lists offers for junk... so I want to know if the merchant's product fits my list well before I'll peddle their wares. I hope my question made sense.... thanks again! |

I'm interested in this too - in the real world I review books and the publishers send me a free review copy. Is the same true for electronic products?
