OK Time to ask a question about AM

Alrighty...here goes. I've been able to make pretty decent money online in the past. My list is faithful and when I actually DO have something for them, I get a decent conversion...but my Moby Dick, clickbank affiliate marketing, my TOP interest, seems to ruin me.

I stopped doing Affiliate Marketing 2 years ago and this is why.

See, I find a good product (one that converts well) and all I really do is launch a PPC campaign leading directly to the sales page of that product (that converts fine...that's what it's meant to do) and I spend a week or two tuning my keywords and upscaling the ones that did VERY well, and it's great, easy income. Only problem is...all those customers are someone else's customers. I would LOVE to capture a list in whatever niche I decide to promote (it doesn't matter which as long as the keywords aren't very competitive, I think I've only ever had 1 product through CB that didn't convert at all). Anyway, if I could get those e-mails somehow, without interrupting the sales process, how would I do that?

I thought of writing my own sales letter with an e-mail opt in at the bottom to get to the "real" sales page but I was thinking that would lose me some conversions. All the success I've had has just been because I could get a ton of people through PPC and the well-converting pages did the rest for me.

NO sustainability. Would this extra page lose me some sales? Would those sales lost be worth gaining a list in a particular niche that I can send more related offers to in the future?

I'm tired of new product launches every month, and affiliate marketing has always gotten me excited, if only I could get some kind of sustained income, because tuning a PPC campaign day after day is extremely stressful, especially cause inevitably one day you'll wake up and will have terrible conversions and have to stop the campaign because the product/market just dried up.

TL;DR

Common knowledge PPC affiliate marketing is pretty damn easy money....at first, but how would I get some kind of sustained income without wrecking my PPC conversions?

Hi Dragonfire, here's another way of looking at it.....

How about checking out some of the great Clickbank offers that just happen to have terrible (or at least, mediocre) sales pages.

Then you get a chance to build a pre-sales page that explains the product properly and will actually boost conversions over a direct-to-salepage click. Not only that, but you can use that pre-sell page to build a list about the subject.

Using your PPC knowledge could give you a way to sell stuff that is largely ignored by affiliates - and the presell process means that you can substitute the final offers fairly easily during your testing phase to see which products finally sell well.

Wow that's actually brilliant! Low competition, a way to build a list, a way to INCREASE conversions...I bow to you sir, and thank you very much, I'll get working on this right away =)
